a few days ago the republican candidate for governor put out this video of himself in bristol, tennessee, across the virginia border saying if he is elected he will support the statewide sale of fireworks that leave the ground and explode in the air like bottle rockets. those fireworks are sold in neighboring states like tennessee, west virginia, pennsylvania, new jersey and others. now gillespie says the change would create thousands of new jobs and generate tens of 348s of new dollar in tax revenue. currently the only fireworks sold in virginia are the ones going off on the ground. gillespie said the fireworks would be safe, consumer grade, only sold to adults. if the local municipalities don't want to sell them, they don't have to. >> it's part of a consistent approach, which i have had to look at every way to create jobs and opportunities in commonwealth. >> but us selling things like that we might be able to duplicate the stands we have in just on richmond highway.
