information about other places that this man carlos deangelo bell worked. he's the former teacher's aide and coach that is accused of sexually assaulting a number of students and he told police he is hiv-positive. anna-lysa gayle with new details we are getting in. anna-lysa: we are learning that not only did he work for charles county public school starting in the fall of 2014, but he also worked for several other organizations in charles county. we just learned he worked for the charles county department of community services in the fall of 2008 as a facility attendant. he also worked for an after-care program. they provided services for j.p. ryan elementary school and william b. wade elementary school. and in the spring of 2016, he volunteered as an assistant coach for a track club known as "the comets." they were teams composed of 15 to 18-year-olds. detectives are also working to find out if he may have assisted with other types of sports throughout the region. these

significant because as you may recall, police began investigating bell in december of 2016 when they got a tip from a parent. he may have been in contact with children, even while he was under investigation. he was just indicted by the grand jury on friday. as always, charles county sheriff's office is asking anyone who may have been in contact with bell to give them a call right away. the number is on the website wjla.com. in the satellite center tonight, anna-lysa gayle, abc7 news. nancy: thank you. in the meantime, three people are dead in 24 hours. all five killed in one county since saturday. jonathan: the numbers are actually down from the same time last year. alison: so tonight, our maryland bureau chief brad bell is live in suitland and he is taking a closer look at what seems like a deadly spike in prince george's county. brad? brad: you know what? it was a tough day. the sound of gunfire mixed in with the sound of fireworks. here in this community, th

gunfire. police found a man's body slumped over in front of an apartment building in suitland. there are bullet holes in a door and a window. there is a family in pain. >> these crimes have to stop. they have to stop. brad: the victim was william's nephew, tyrek walker. 18 years old. >> people thought it was fireworks. it has to stop. brad: it was a violent fourth. beginning with a shooting at 6:45 a.m. at this house on kayak avenue in capitol heights. a man propreviously attacked a -- a man who previously attacked a resident here broke in and shot and killed. it will likely be justified. >> he had a right to. brad: and more gunfire. robinson was killed after a dispute between two groups. police s

alison: we have new information today about the man who escaped from i.c.e. custody on monday. court documents show that carlos rivas-mendez had already been deported from the u.s. five times before he was taken into custody. he was arrested july 3 on charges of being drunk in public. so then he was being transported to the i.c.e. office in fairfax when he complained that his handcuffs were too tight. he made a run for it. when officers pulled over to loosen the cuffs. nancy: 7 is on stormwatch with a chance of rain coming our way. meteorologist steve rudin is tracking the forecast. it's gray looking at the capitol building. steve: indeed. cloudy skies out there now and it will remain cloudy moving through the evening hours. the good news with the clouds, the rain out there now, not expecting anything to become severe. show you exactly where it's wet at this hour. we are looking at the wet weather to the north of us around the hagerstown area. once again, not looking for

indoors and away from the huge cloud. it contained a chemical but it's since cleared. alison: we go to a developing story out of new york city where a police officer there was shot and killed as she sat in a command vehicle writing in a notebook. michelle marsh is at the "live desk" with the latest on this. michelle: the new york city police call this a clear assassination. this brutal attack, unprovoked. officer miosotis familia was sitting in a mobile command unit, as you mentioned, when she was ambushed. shot in the head. she was a 1246 year vet -- a 1246 -- 12-year veteran and mother of three, including a set of twins. her partner made this call for help. >> shots fired. [bleep] michelle: officers caught up with the gunman a few blocks away. 34-year-old alexander bonds. he was shot and killed when he pulled a gun on those officers. he was an excon who ranted online about his treatment in prison. he was paroled from the new york state prison attyca in 2013 after serving six years for armed robbery. police commissioner james o'neil tweeted familia was assassinated in an unprovoked attack on cops assigned to keep new yorkers safe. >> she was on duty. she was doing the job she loved. after this shocking and the sudden attack her fellow officers came to her aid immediately. michelle: surveillance video shows bonds leaving a convenience store, walking along a wall and then pulling his hood over his head before walking up to

vehicle. police are still trying to figure out what his exact motive was. we will let you know as soon as we get more information. that is the latest from the "live desk," michelle marsh, abc7 news. alison: thank you. so tragic. this shooting conjures up memories of officer brian gibson. this happened here in d.c. he was 27 years old sitting in his cruiser, waiting for a light to change at missouri and georgia avenue when a man who had been thrown out of a nearby nightclub walked up to the cruiser and started shooting. the shooter was sentenced to life without parole. this is his mom, shirley gibson. every year, his mother holds a dinner in her son's memory for other police officers. she is a remarkable woman. she did say last december that that 20th dinner she held would be her last. she was going to take a little break. nancy? nancy: right now an emergency meeting of the u.n. security council underway. the topic

alison: "spotlight on education." there is a new law in maryland that limits college and universities from reducing a student's financial aid. they can only reduce age if it's permission from the provide veers. it was made after schools were caught lowering financial aid after students were awarded more fun. nancy: but sometimes you have loans. and "7 on your side" investigative reporter nathan baca shows how we could be leading the country to let you refinance the death. nathan: montgomery county residents may soon have the option to refinance their student loans. right now the interest rates are 8, 9, 10%. that could come down to 5% soon. that could mean hundreds of dollars each month back in the pockets of college students and their families. montgomery county says they would be the first county in

level there are warning about the dangers of fireworks last week. today we find a boy who graduated from the eighth grade and recovering after losing three finners in an accident. and richard reeve has details. we put the warning out every year. the firefighters are quick to do it. we still see it happen. it's horrible. this 14-year-old boy lost three of the middle fingers and he had burns around his body from the fireworks. look what we found near the scene. here is what we know. he was hanging around with friends at 10:30 last night. at some point someone threw or tossed a firework in the direction of the 14-year-old and it went off. he
