advisers, saying that the president's son only agreed to the meeting after the promise of information damaging to hillary clinton. he says the lawyers statements were vague, ambiguous, and made eo sense, and th meeting quickly turned to russian adoption policies. counselor to the president kellyanne conway, coming to his defense on gma -- thisn junior came forth weekend and gave more information about the meeting. >> after denying it. >> no information that was meaningful or helpful was gained from this. >> don junior also tweeting, obviously, i'm the first person on a campaign to take a meeting to hear info about an opponent. went nowhere but had to listen. no inconsistency in statements. meeting ended up being primarily about adoptions. in response to further questions, i provided more details.

no one was home at the time, and cruise say the house is a total loss. a fire that destroyed a home in southeast d.c. is now ruled arson. take a look at the flames. it happened near valley lane yesterday. one firefighter did suffer minor injuries, but no word on any suspects in connection with that fire. covering metro, safetrack is over, but the metro work is not. a new project is beginning on the red line due to water and grime seeping into the system. reporter brianne carter has details from bethesda on the push to fix the problem. brianne: heads up, red line riders. a major service disruption you need to be aware of. single-tracking will begin starting at 9:00 along the stretch of the red line from crenshaw heights to medical center and will st

then comes this weekend, even bigger disruptions. that's because the first of four consecutive weekend shutdowns will begin this weekend. all of this is work being done to try to fix a decades-old problem of water leaking in through the tunnels onto the tracks, causing incidents like smoking insulators, something that has been a major disruption. crews will start what is known grouting, adding a rubber-like membrane to the outside of the tunnel wall to try to stop the water, but they need the space within the tunnels and tracks to be able to do this. they are going to have service disruption. what you need to know starting , lasting through the next month, there will be single-tracking on the red line. this weekend, the first of four weekend shutdowns. metro says they will continue this work for about a

hour, a suspect is in custody for allegedly killing in new york state trooper, and police say the gunman is a member of the u.s. army. trooper joel davis was responding to a domestic dispute near the canadian border when justin walters opened fire. walters is accused of shooting and killing his wife and hurting another woman who lived there. trooper davis is survived by a wife and three children. a similar scene in ohio where an officer just underwent surgery after being shot four times. according to authorities, sergeant david white was responding to a domestic violence call when the gunmen opened fire, and another officer returned fire, killing the shooter. the suspect did have a history of police confrontations. sergeant white is doing ok, but officials say he will need more medical procedures. here is something you don't see every day. that is a sink in the back window of a police cruiser. someone launched that onto

the police car during a homicide investigation in san francisco. so far, no arrests have been made. and massive fire, ripping through an historic market in london. dozens of firefighters were called to that seen of a popular tourist spot. cruise say it took nearly three hours to knock down the flames. right now, no reports of any injuries, and no word on the start of the fire. here at home, an investigation after a double murder in suitland. officers say they were called to a shopping center where they found two men with gunshot wounds. apparently, one of the men tried to get help after he was shot. >> one of the victims, after he was shot, he did go to popeyes seeking help, and that is where the fire department and our officers discovered the one victim. adrianna: the other man was found in a nea

scene. police are offering a reward for information leading to an arrest. happening later, a rally and a vigil will be held for the dnc staffer murdered one year ago today. seth rich was shot and killed last night -- last year. police claim his killing was a botched robbery, but nothing was taken. his family put out a statement this morning saying, we are again feeling the deep loss of this senseless act, and while we recognize the futility of this request, we will say it anyway -- stop using seth as a political football in predetermined political narratives. d.c. mayor muriel bowser is set to take part in a public safety walk, and she plans to address neighborhood concerns. she will hear from residents and business owners in the marshall heights neighborhood. that begins at 3:00 p.m. at 50th and d streets southeast.
