brain scans. >> mccain's wife cindy tweeting overnight that her husband is doing well. we are joined live with the latest. good morning. >> it is a tough diagnosis for a man known as one of the toughest senators on capitol hill, but it's not mccain's first battle with cancer. the former presidential candidate underwent three surgeries between 1993 and 2002 to remove four melanomas, but their latest diagnosis is different. glioblastoma is a rare form of brain cancer, affecting three out of every 100,000 people in the u.s. and the prognosis can vary based on a number of factors. i remains in arizona after the surgery that led to the diagnosis in the first place u a. and doctors say he is improving well. statements have been pouring in from president

further south, another case of road rage in virginia ended in a hail of bullets. >> this morning police are still trying to piece together what exactly happened. here's abc's david cukerley. >> reporter: the end of a road rage shooting that left a driver wounded. surveillance video reportedly showing part of the incident. that black suv pulling off the road. it's difficult to see, but the other vehicle, a van, drives on. >> a white mail suspect in a white sprinter van. >> reporter: an immediate manhunt starts. police say this all began on the interstate. after exiting, the vehicles hit a stoplight. the driver of the suv wassage tatd, pulled in front of the van and got out of her vehicle. >> she gets out the car and he opens the door. he didn't say nothing, just started shooting. >> reporter: road rage incidents are climbing. we've seen vehicles bumping each other or guns pulled. a private tracking group says
