looking for. now they are asking for help. jonathan: d.c. bureau chief sam ford joining us live along the an costia trail with the -- anacostia river trail with the latest on the case. what do we know, sam? sam: police are saying a man was on this trail this morning. shot and killed by another man who rode off on a bicycle. the man on the trail may have had two dogs with him. according to police, the man was walking on the trail, shot multiple times there. syndications that the man may have been walking two dogs and one of the dogs was also killed. d.c. homicide would not confirm that. we saw humane rescue alliance workers handling a young pitbull. the police describe the victim as a black male. >> he has been pronounced at this time. we do not -- we are still in the process of trying to identify him also. zams you are look for somebody?

out there. looking at the temperatures around the region, d.c., reagan national, 85. upper 70's in martinsburg. dale city now at 85. the nats are playing tonight a little after 7:00. that is the first pitch. temperatures around 80. falling in the middle 70's. by the time the game comes to an end, talking about heavy rain. a lot of rain for friday. we give you timing and look ahead to the upcoming weekend in a few minutes. nancy? nancy: thank you. a driver going the wrong way triggering a horrific crash that killed two people on route 50 in anne arundel county this morning. this is not the first wrongway crash along the road. maryland bureau chief brad bell looking into a dangerous history on route 50. brad? brad: yeah, you know what? it was just in may we had another one of these crashes. less than a mile in that direction. this morning's crash happened here. these are the westbound very fast-moving

you might be able to see there is a dip in the road. it looks like that means that the westbound cars would not have seen this wrongway driver until it was too late. the images from the crash are jarring. cars obliterated by a force of a highway speed head-on collision. two are dead including the 31-year-old driver who police say caused the crash by driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate. >> we do not know where she entered the westbound lanes or where she was coming from. brad: the wrongway driver of the red hyundai identified as 31-year-old christine parks there severn. hui xu was killed after being hit head on. they are looking into if parks was drinking. >> there were alcoholic beverages found in the vehicle. brad: this happened a half mile

wrongway crash on eastbound lane of route 50 in may. the wrongway driver and the man she struck in that collision. in that crash, the wrongway driver entered the highway at an area many consider confusing and dangerous. today state highway officials declined comment that the state police spokesman says engineers have been and will be looking at the roadway. >> every time there is a fatal crash, the engineers come out and survey the area around the scene. brad: we have learned that the state highway engineers were out at the location where the last wrongway driver got on the roadway. they found no problems with the engineering or the signs. they will be out here again as well once they determine where this wrongway driver got on roadway. when we come back at 5:00, you will hear a very emotional story. there were actually three cars involved in this crash. the

2:30. you can see two kids playing with the lightsabers in the lobby at the children's inn. the whole group is now at the n.i.a. clinical center across the street. many of the kids had no idea this was all in the works. i spoke to an 11-year-old boy named marcello who has had a diminished. i mune system. he has been making his home from connecticut to n.i.h. for seven years and he was proudly carrying around a lightsaber and had a big smile on his face. the children's inn is private non-profit home for kids with rare or critical diseases. it provides free lodging. therapy and education to 1700 families including bridget nelson's son. >> that is his happiness. happiness and joy. we are here to have fun. that is what this place is. it keeps your mind fun and doesn't make you think of doctor appointments all day long and the next day and the bloo

fire. the organic consumer organization reporting ten out of 11 samples of the ice cream had traces of a key ingredient in herbicide. there are calls now for organic food stores to dump ben & jerry's. in a statement the group said that ben & jerry's falsely advertises that the products are natural and brand as sustainable and socially responsible. the world health organization cancer research brand deemed the substance probably carcinogen in 2015. nancy: update on a story we're following closely. chipotle received a subpoena requesting information about the sterling sickness. they want more details about what is believed to be a norovirus outbreak. the restaurant shut down for cleaning after people got sick and reopened the next day. alison: rebuilding tonight at the flood in sanctuary city.

bowie road. the driver did stay at the scene. there is no word on charges. michelle: happening now sentencing in a disturbing love triangle murder case out of takoma park. the man and woman convicted of killing the husband in 2015. the woman had done google searches about tasers and death by burning. a sentence handed down in minutes. brown, the wife of the victim was sentenced to 30 years in jail. or prison. we'll have more on the story tonight at 5:00. jonathan: look how beautiful this is. in is the belle haven countryclub. maybe they are enjoying outdoors

we have more with brian van de graaff in a few minutes who promises he is going to milk a cow. something you don't want to miss. michelle? michelle: okay! thank you, steve. new details out of san antonio where ten people died while packed inside a semi-trailer full of undocumented immigrants. texas congressman says the truck passed through a border patrol kek point two hours before it was discovered. what is unclear is whether 100 people got in the trailer before or after it crossed the border. the truck driver arrested claims he did not know people were inside of the trailer. nancy: the state of ohio executed a death row inmate today. the first execution in three years. ronald phillips died by lethal injection. a court found him guilty in 1993. he was convicted of raping and killing his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter. the girl's mother was convicted of involuntary manslaughter. she died of cancer in prison

justine damond. there is new changes to body camera policy. among the changes the officers must turn on camera while responding to all calls. the officer who shot her had the camera off. the interim chief wants to make sure it doesn't happen again. >> what good is a camera if not used when it may be needed the most? from this day forward, the minneapolis police department we want to add strength to the expectations. michelle: another official says police are equipping squad cars to technology to activate the body cameras when the emergency flaggers are turned on -- emergency flashers are turned on. this sparked outrage and led to the resignation of the police chief. lucky whitehead is speaking after he was falsely accused of shoplifting in virginia that led to the release from the dallas cowboys. he and his agent told the team they weren't aware of the charge. the 25-year-old s
