arrests. police needounty your help to solve a drive-by shooting in silver spring caught on tape. a home shot up, and they are hoping that this stunning surveillance video will help crack the case. residents were awoken to the sound of gunshots. reporter: multiple shots fired on avondale road in silver spring just after 3 a.m. july 17. the police want to know who did the shooting. >> right now we are trying to determine this. until we can identify suspects and question them, we don't know why this occurred. reporter: the police found gun shell casings in the streets and found the house had been hit by multiple shots, some piercing the home. the officer said that the use of neighborhood surveillance camera can help solve crimes like these. >>

residents who have surveillance video. in this case, we obtained the surveillance video from the area and it has proven valuable. reporter: the established neighborhood does not have a history of this type of crime and the police are looking for tips. >> we are offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest of up to $10,000. we are asking for anybody with information about the vehicle or suspects or any knowledge of the crime to please contact the tactics. alison: some good news tonight about house majority whip steve scalise. that the hospital. scalise was seriously hurt when a gunman opened fire on a congressional baseball practice last month. he will now begin rehab. at medstar washington hospital center he is in good spirits and looking forward to getting back to work. jonathan: fairfax county police are looking for a maintenance man accused of installing secret cameras inside of apartments where he worked.
