this was covered with the rushing water an hour ago. we are here because at 3:30 this afternoon the alexandria fire and rescue got a 911 call from a woman who had seen a young boy playing by the water. she did not see him anymore. she got scared and called 911. it turns out the boy went back to his home so a false alarm and nothing to worry about there. we did speak with the alexandria swift water rescue team. they were out on the call. this is not a time to take chances on the road or on the ground. >> if there is water on the roadway. people think they can make it through and we can't. we pull them out of the car. there is too much debris. get called on it. next thing you know you will be under water and we can't get to you.

beach drive where rock creek spilled over the banks and swallowed a playground, a basketball court and park. the water so high it nearly overcame the cedar bank bridge. at last check the beach drive is closed from the rockville pike and connecticut avenue. the closure is possibly going even further. height of the day's rainfall in montgomery county between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. wheaton, gaithersburg olney getting hit hard. they had to shut down a road south of cons avenue because of the -- connecticut avenue because of pooling water around 12:00 noon today. a lot of residents took photos, documenting the flash flooding and posted them online. i, myself, haven't heard of water rescues taking place today. that is the latest from the mobiletrak7. back to you. jonathan: thank you. nancy: head out now to ryan hughes in alexandria. there

out there. the neighborhood has seen this in the past as well. ryan: nancy, the residents here are used to the flooding. we are getting a break from the rain. the flooding continues to come here on fenwick drive. this is the huntington area of alexandria. if fire officials are knocking on doors and telling people to get the vehicles to higher ground. there was a vehicle that had the back tires the water up to the trunk. going door to door on this road here. also arlington terrace runs parallel. they are also reminding residents to move the cars. if we zoom in you can see that the water rising over the bank. that is the current. the officials tell us once the water recedes over the banks it takes 30 to 40 minutes for the area to get
