away, ok? jonathan: controversial comments about policing in the spotlights. the d.c. police chief reacts, next. ow, abc 7 news at 11:00, on your side. jonathan: we start and the stormwatch center because of what happened earlier. the radar is cleared out at this hour, but this was after heavy rain and storms rolled through, some leaving damage. alison: we are in the weather center with meteorologist steve rudin. are we finish tonight? steve: we are in the clear. inhad the microburst earlier frederick county, then the strong thunderstorms that moved through the district over the dinnertime hour. that moved through quickly and all the warnings are gone. right now, as we show you the temperatures for the day tomorrow, we will make it into the upper 80's, near 90 degrees.

morning. by the afternoon, a better chance of pop-up showers and thunderstorms. some of those storms will have the potential to become strong to severe. the humidity returns tomorrow. we are timing the showers and storms tomorrow and looking ahead to the weekend coming up. jonathan: steve, thanks. frederick got hit hard tonight by the swift storms. tonight we are seeing some of the damage. alison: the national weather service does not think this was a tornado but a powerful microburst. jonathan: tim barber is live in frederick surveying the situation. they really got blasted out there. tim: jonathan, this storm was fast and furious. we are standing in the parking lot of the furniture store. they had this big tent set up, covering furniture. the storm came through in tour this down in a matter of seconds. tonight's microburst

whipped rain around like a hurricane. >> the rain was blowing sideways. tim: 60 miles per hour wind twisted metal, smash trees and light poles, and this tent came crashing down. frederick's sky went from blue to black within minutes. >> it was scary. we do not know what was going on. a lot of loud noises, thunder. tim: the microburst blasted near i-70 just before 7 p.m. scott lives nearby. >> it was kind of frightening to see on the way home from work. repaired at, crews traffic lights and remove trees. >> the big thing is how quick it happened and how extreme it can be in such a short amount of time. tim: this is actually in the parking lot pretty good to protect the furniture. obviously that did not work out. they

position within the department after an investigation found unsanitary conditions and supply issues. the department accused hawkins of failing to provide effective leadership when he worked at the center. the murder of a young dnc staffer has been a d.c. mystery for more than a year. jonathan: now a lawsuit claims that it false conspiracy theories about it was manufactured by the white house. alison: nancy chen, walk us through the lawsuit and what the white house is saying. centershe lawsuit around a report by fox news saying that it had proof the conspiracy theories were real. turns out they were false. fox ultimately retracted the story. the fox news story was largely based on quotes by a former homicide detective investigating the case. fox, saying the story was fabricated. he was involved after being contacted by well-connected republican

to the white house in april to discuss the story that fox news was working on with the press secretary sean spicer. >> he did not say a whole lot. he said if i wanted to come he could put me in touch with the white house. nancy: not long after, spicer denied any knowledge of the fox news story. >> i'm not aware. updates on don't get former dnc staffers. nancy: today spicer admitted he did have the meeting at the white house with the investigator, calling the donor a longtime supporter of the president's agenda. the investigator claims there was more from the white house. days after the story aired, the donor left a voicemail, sing the white house was on board with the story. >> i got a note that we have the full attention of the white house on this. and

that a d.c. dog died of rabies even after it was vaccinated. right now it is tracking about where the dog had played and stayed. latesty is live at the on a concerning situation. jonathan, we are talking about a dog that was in contact with more than 100 pets. according to the health officials, she said some of those pets were in this clinic in northern arlington. pet owners are on high alert after the health department issued a warning. a rabid bulldog named fred had died recently after being seen at sherry dale clinic on lee highway. pet owners were shocked and spoke highly of the clinic. >> i love it. i keep coming back. is for pets and people who were at the clinic at the same time as the sick dog. saturday, july 8, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., and friday, july

alison: an unusual fine for a man as he remodeled a home in upstate new york. he found a wedding dress rocks then the attic. jonathan: he posted a picture of the dress on facebook and within two hours he got a response from the daughter of the woman who once wore the dress. she got goosebumps because showed a picture of her mom and the dress. when i saw that come it was like, my god. it's surreal. >> all of this is just incredible. alison: her mom died two years ago.
