virginia. you see the cold air -- ohio, rather. you see the front making its move. one opportunity will be this afternoon, and later this evening and tonight for a second chance. that is the second batch which may produce the possibility of very heavy, if not severe, storms over parts of the area. satellite radar very quiet in our area, but we will keep a close eye on doppler, because probably around 2:30, we will see is popping up. as far as futurecast, this is set at 5:30. according to this model, not a lot of action locally. most will be over the mountains. later tonight, ahead of the front, showers and thunderstorms could last into the overnight. the winds turned the northwest behind the front. cooler and drier air will move into the region. let me give you an hour-by-hour for the area for the rest of this afternoon. we will get up to about 91, feeling a couple degrees warmer.

word yet on any injuries. now to some incredible video. one of the world's tallest towers is on fire. this is the torch tower in dubai, where a fire broke out just after midnight, engulfing part of the skyscraper and sending chunks of debris plummeting below. more than 40 floors of the 84-story building were burning on one side. the good news is the building was successfully evacuated and no one was hurt. now to some must-see video. watch how close an american airlines plane was to disaster, after the engine caught fire just before takeoff at chicago's o'hare international airport last october. the pilots had to take a split-second decision to abort takeoff, slowing down the aircraft after that engine failure. passengers were quickly evacuated, but 20 were hurt. firefighters were on scene and attacked the blaze within minutes, surrounding the

flames that were soaring off the wings. the cause of this is still under investigation. a sprint store in north carolina are still in shock after a woman walked inside, armed with an assault rifle. she casually walks into the store with a gun almost as big as she is. employees say the video does not show the moment she held that gun to the store clerk's head. no one was injured in the robbery, but the store manager says employees are too afraid to return to work. now to a stinky situation in tennessee. a toilet in southwest airlines' overflowed, clogged with paper towels, spilling toilet water on the floor and into bags. some were so bad passengers had to leave their backs behind. no bags were allowed to be on the plane until after they were sanitized. and check this out. usually, senior prank is toward the end of the year, but studen

urging him to take his own life. elizabeth vargas joins us with a preview of what we can expect tonight. this is such a bizarre case, and an even more bizarre sentencing. elizabeth: it is a tragic case, and it is precedent-setting as well. legal experts -- first amendment rights experts have been watching this. can you be responsible, with words you send a text message or online, with what someone does? this young woman has been found guilty of manslaughter for sending text messages that encouraged this young man to kill himself. tonight on "20/20," we will a out those messages. it was a two-year long relationship in which these two texted constantly. they lived a couple hours apart in massachusetts. initially, 490% of the text messages, she tried to convince him not to kill himself. it is just of the and she seems to

it, get back in the truck, and that leads to the young man's death. she has been sentenced to 15 months in prison, and remained out of jail before appealing the guilty verdict, which has upset the family. we are talking to everybody exclusively today in massachusetts. we will have it all for you tonight. adrianna: when this was unfolding before the trial, a lot of her friends, and the victim's family, said she did not seem to show remorse. are we going to hear remorse from her or anyone she knows tonight? elizabeth: listen, this kind of thing is tough. people show emotions in different ways, and she certainly seemed distraught in the courtroom when she was getting the sentence and heard the guilty verdict. tonight, we talked to the prosecution as well as the defense lawyers and the family roy, whoctim, conrad believe she is very responsible for their br
