images. these are the images that the d.c. police just released of the three gunmen that the police say they are looking for. three gunmen they say that attack people here at the exxon station at 18th and monroe northeast. in this case, a homicide. the death of jarvis bell so police say there is a $25,000 reward for information leading to the gunmen. reporting live from northeast washington i'm sam ford, abc7 news. larry: thank you. we have this in the newsroom. they say this man facing aggravated sexual battery charges after touching children at an in-home daycare. claudio vargas lazo was arrested after an 11-year-old reported being touched inappropriately and then they found a 9-year-old making the same claims. he runs a licensed in-home daycare in fairfax. anyone can concerns should

there. he is looking at his phone. but police say they want to talk to this man about using that phone to take pictures up women's skirts in metro stations. kevin lewis has the developing story. kevin? kevin: this happened wednesday evening. the young suspect cycled up and down escalators repeatedly using a cell phone and placing it up women's skirts. >> that is disrespectful. violation of personal space. >> a wanted man used the pitch of the columbia heights metro station escalators to collect photos and videos of random women skirts. >> i would have been shocked. then a reflex to hit him. >> they released a want flyer, showing thing ad upskirter wearing a black

camouflage pants and a necklace. there sals security video which captured the man milling out the base of the escalator that takes people to and from georgia avenue. >> he would be pushed down the escalators. kevin: one woman felt a hand up her skirt and reported. by based on the surveillance video many victims had no idea their privacy was ever invaded. >> if you wouldn't want something like that happening to your daughter, sisters or mothers you shouldn't do it to other people. simply not okay. kevin: police haven't said exactly how many female victims there are. but we know all of them were wearing skirts. undercover officers now being used to try to catch this guy. we are live in northwest, i'm kevin lewis, abc7 news. alison: updating breaking news we first brought you today when skytrak7 over the fairfax swimming pool.

sick today. seven kids got sick after chlorine leak. they are all expected to be fine. the pool is closed for the rest of the day while investigators try to figure out what happened. larry: we have an update on the d.c. firefighter hit by a ladder truck thursday morning. dane smothers jr. is in intensive care tonight after he sponding to a fire on 8th street northeast when he was hit by the truck. the d.c. fire is still investigating how it happened. alison: new developments tonight about the freight train derailment in western pennsylvania we have been telling you about. the officials say the propane fire burned itself out and crews are monitoring the sulfur fires. no one was hurt and a thousand people that are living nearby are still out of the homes tonight. larry: pop-up storms spread through the area thursday and we could see more t

the next forecast coming up in 15 minutes. alison: thank you, doug. as the strong storms roll through the baltimore area last night a 14-year-old girl was killed after a tree fell on a car. also trapped three other people inside. police say the 8th grader and two other teens and the victim's mother were taken to the hospital. they are expected to be okay. they pulled over when the storm was too dangerous to drive in. but then the streets were lined with the big trees. >> i ran out and i tried to help get the tree off the car. it was a shame of what happened. nobody really wants that to happen to anybody. alison: it's believed that weather is to blame but police are still investigating tonight. stay connected with the

the "washington post" published the full transcript of phone calls between president trump and two foreign leaders on thursday. both archbishops and -- both republicans and the democrats say the leaked transcript is unacceptable. >> it's terribly serious. they have to be able to talk turkey and talk about what really happened. >> it puts a chilling effect on whether world leaders wanted to talk to the president. >> president trump has been critical of the attorney general not doing enough to stop the leaks and sessions said they are raching up the efforts and today he announced four people have been charged with leaking classified information. larry: thank you. right now president trump is in new jersey starting a 17-day vacation at his private golf club there. air force one landing 15 minutes ago. while he is gone a new heating and cooling system will be installed at the white house. the white house staffers are

larry: covering metro tonight with warning about the station work this weekend. tomorrow on the green line the suitland is closed and naylor closed two weeks after that. shuttle buses are offered in the maintenance work. the bethesda station on the red line is also closed this weekend for the work to stop the water leaks. stay ahead of any of the issues at

last winter snowballed to a real headache for people living in an arlington neighborhood. q mccray is there live where it all came to a head on thursday. right, q? q: yeah. exactly. you mentioned the complaint. the family that made the complaint, the word is they wish they could take it back. the signs are up and down the street. six in total. neighbors are mad. when did they put in the sign? >> yesterday. q: joe has been upset ever since. the same goes for the edmonston. edmonston. -- for the edwards. >> it's inconvenient. >> unnecessary. q: they have been neighbors pushing 60 years now. in the 2900 block of north 24th street. a one-block dead-end street full of parking spaces. that is until a newer neighbor complained to arlington county officials last winter about too many cars parked on the road. >> never had this problem

parking. the county removed 18 spots on the street. >> everybody has gotten along for decades with no problem whatsoever. q: what would make you happy? >> to get the sign removed. q: we preached out to the country -- we reached out to the county who said that is not going to happen. they said if the street were fully parked it's clear that the emergency vehicles simply could not maneuver there. we work to limit the spaces we had to eliminate but in the end safety must come first. the county told me they had several meetings with the residents on the street. the signs going up shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. they knew it was going to happen. reporting live in arlington, i'm q mccray. larry: look at him there. thank you. starting suspected the sidewalks and the key bridge will be c

transportation set it will alternate between the inbound and the outbound side of the bridge for repairs and repainting. the closures are sunday, monday, thursday, friday between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. weather permitting. alison: take a moment to look at this. this is a water spout near northern tip of lake erie. i could be seen from the buffalo and the ontario side of the lake. in fact, two kids had to be rescued from the buffalo river as the storm moved through. thunderstorm watch is in effect in western new york until 9:00 p.m. larry: look at that. doug: scary to see. especially if you're on the water. alison: big-time. a beautiful scene behind us. have you had a chance to see the sunflower fields? doug: spectacular. alison: i am hoping it's still at bloom. we haven't gotten out there you be i'd like to go before it's too late. doug: magnificent to see. the weather is magnificent this weekend. we have had week of the cable july/august stuff with the heat and storms. maybe storms tonight but a big

weekend and nice one. let's start with the time lapse. we start with seneca valley middle school in georgetown. take a look since earlier today. we have sen changes but not -- we have seen changes but not the last couple of days. fair weather cumulus clouds floating along and dissipating. sunshine, lush and green from the rains of last week but it's warm. no question it is summertime around here with the temperatures around 90. feels like temperatures a bit warmer. at this hour, the temperatures range at 90 degrees at raleigh and durham and richmond. 88 in washington. cooler to the north and west. look at these temperatures. 79 in columbus. only 66 in detroit. 64 in chicago where the nats are playing tonight. so a cooldown. the temperatures will moderate as the air moves eastward but it is a different look and feel tomorrow and sunday than all week. it's delightful and there are no shortage of the showers and

especially in pennsylvania, new york state. ahead of the cold front. you can see this in ohio and kentucky and that front is going to cross the area overnight. we have a few more storms and the heaviest is in cumberland. there are not many more storms that are following. but we think it's a possibility later tonight of a few storms but i don't think it's widespread. many of you will get no rain at all. we will keep it warm and muggy and talk about the spotty thunderstorms later. any storms that form tonight have potential of strong winds, downpours and the cloud to ground lightning to be limited in the number.

there are southeasterly winds at 11:00. watch the barbs overnight that turn the other way to start coming from the west and the northwest. schooler and the drier air throughout the area. it will be partly sunny, mostly sunny on others and breezy and cooler. less humid throughout the day. sunday there is another shift in the winds. the winds turn southerly or southeasterly sunday to boost temperatures 85 or so. that is still below average. so a big change indeed. there is great outdoor weather conditions all the way through. the pool weather we will use it as a backdrop tomorrow with the temperatures that are climbing in the lower 80's. plenty of sunshine. the air is cooler and the sun is hot. you will burn up quick if you don't protect yourself. sunny and less humid. 82 tomorrow. 86 on sunday. the weekend high average is 87. we are a bit below the mark there. now we can check out the next ten days. really struck moving to august. look how cool the temperatures will be. below average. now a lot of times you get

alison: updating our breaking news now. this is the first look at the gunman in the gas station murder. four people were shot and one person was killed. abc7 obtained this video an hour ago from d.c. police. you see the gunman there holding out the guns and running away. three survivors of the shooting still in the hospital tonight. we'll have much more on the developing story coming up at 6:00. larry? larry: a former elementary school teacher headed to prison after being convicted of sexually abusing some of the substitutes. nathan baca is live after speaking to vugna friends and supporters and prosecutors in this case. nathan? nathan: the courtroom was packed with three dozen family members and

vigna. they were wearing the shirts here that say "vigna strong." but a judge says that john vigna is the destroyer of children's souls. he was a long of time teacher, elementary school teacher at cloverly elementary school. he was convicted in june for sexually abusing four girls. they were in third grade at the time. he made a last-minute plea for leniency asking to take his life experience as a teacher, coach, father into account. judge could have sentenced him to 80 years in prison. unstead he was sentenced to 48 years in. >> he has been wrongly convicted. >> some of the kids are having emotionally hard times. really emotionally hard times. a tough time sleeping. , is about suicide -- issues about suicide.

>> one of the fathers of the victims pointed his finger at vigna blaming him for troubles that his daughter was going through. it was very emotional in court. reporting live in rockville, nathan baca, abc7 news. alison: thank you. legal fight is brewing over a pesticide ban. the judge overturned a ban on certain pesticides on private lawns and said it was pre-empted in state law. the council is considering the options. including appealing the judge's decision. >> stinky situation for hundreds of passengers at nashville airport. sewer water sprayed the luggage before they got on a plane. but a similar incident took place last summer. >> that is disgusting. i wouldn't never want it to happen to my bags.

around the country dealing with ptsd, traumatic brain injury. >> 16 years ago, navy lieutenant commander harper started to play the sport. you was his passion. he was good at it. so he thought teaching and sharing the sport with the wounded warriors would do two things, build camaraderie and help heal them. >> we want to find is there a better way to help them? we are using racquet ball to help them with the issues. >> there it is. >> the military racquet ball federation is a non-profit group that travels the country with the portable racquet court. they recruit those looking for an outlet. he gives the lessons to get the first timers hooked. >> i was a baseball player, football and basketball. since chair i are started to play tennis, racquet ball. the things about the sports you can take it home from day one. >> the navy veteran lost the use of his legs in a crash but it did not slow him down, not even a little. he competes in a variety of sports, including racquet
