6 inside of a tgi friday's. and the burst of rain turning some roads into rivers. the system now moving into the northeast, with millions still in the path. we begin with rob marciano. >> reporter: tonight tulsa is a wasteland of debris. the windows of this high rise blown out, an entire strip mall reduced to rubble, at least 30 people injured, 6 at this tgi friday's. >> it's pretty extensive. you can see where the store came through. >> reporter: late today, officials confirming it was an ef-2 tornado with winds of at least 110 miles per hour. the twister developing so quickly, some areas didn't have time to activate sirens. lightning tearing through the sky.

up to 14,000 left without power, of the 30 injured, none life threatening. in kansas city, torrential rain thrashing on windshields and flooding roadways. water rescues required for some stranded motorists. this submerged car abandoned, lights flickering. and in new orleans, up to ten inches of rain drowning the big easy. >> it was a nightmare navigating those streets. >> reporter: roadways swamped, cars abandoned. this neighborhood inundated. >> it's crazy. you can't go through your front door. >> reporter: restaurant owners flooded for a second time, bringing back memories of the city's worst disaster. >> it's like katrina all over again. >> reporter: people fleeing their homes however they can. >> strong statement. let's get an update on new orleans and where the storms are headed now. hey, rob. >> a bit of a break across new orleans. but a smattering storms across much of the country. going to get a

otherwise are both laughable and absurd. next to the nationwide manhunt for an accused rapist who made an escape. here's ron claiborne with reports the fbi has joined the search. >> reporter: tonight, a desperate manhunt in ohio and beyond for an escaped inmate armed with a deputy's gun. >> we've yet to find him. has possession of a firearm, up to 30 rounds of ammunition. he has to be getting cold and hungry. >> reporter: brandon powell, accused of rape, escaped friday while being transferred from a hospital near toledo after being treated there for injuries from a suicide attempt while in jail. these hospital security images show powell as he was being led to the police vehicle by the officer, he's in handcuffs, his cuff

while sitting in the back of the transport vehicle powell somehow put the deputy in a headlock, the car crashed and he took the officer's weapon. the inmate then forced the officer to undo his shackles before handcuffing him to the steering wheel. powell then took the deputy's cell phone, wallet and ammunition and then disabled his radio and car. powell fled on foot. >> you don't take a pistol from one of my deputies and threaten him with it. he's going to be held accountable for that when he's located. >> he's not a good guy. if you see him, call the police. don't go near him. >> reporter: police are still trying to figure out how powell with his hands manacled managed to get into a position where could put a headlock on that officer. but there was no partition between the back and front seats. police say that will change. >> thank you. next, overseas to the search and

italian broadcaster rai that she was terrified and feared for her life. according to police, men posing as photographers lured her to italy and doped a young model with a powerful sedative, ketamine. then moving her from that suitcase, into a car trunk to a remote cabin near the french border. handcuffing her to furniture in this house for six days. the abductors allegedly using encrypted accounts, asking the model's agent for more than $300,000 to stop them from selling her as a sex slave. police in the cabin where the model was allegedly held recovering a flyer advertising an online criminal network, operating from an encrypted part of the web inaccessible through standard browsers. tonight, a polish man with alleged links to online sex trafficking in custody. "he was dangerous and working for an organization on the deep web."
