baker called on the president to resign. reporting in northwest, live, tom roussey, abc 7 news. alison: and now, a gathering on the steps of the lincoln memorial with the message that love to feeds hate. nancy: impacted by charlottesville violence. anna-lysa gayle is live on the national mall. anna-lysa: it started on the steps of the jefferson memorial, but about three hours ago, with many coming together to call for support for those impacted by the violence in charlottesville, roughly 200 people showed up tonight. it was led by several uva alumni who wanted to speak about the positive experiences they had attending the university in charlottesville. many say they are shocked and disgusted by the violence over the weekend and wanted to show that love defeats

guy who abducted allegedly assaulted a five-year-old girl in fairfax county. officers canvassed the area again tonight. the little girl disappeared from a playground sunday night and returned with a horrible story. she is now in counseling. the police are encouraging anyone with information to come forward. nancy: one year after a deadly explosion at a silver spring apartment, lex, federal investigators exposing thousands including a damage topping a million dollars, and witnesses including one man who said he felt a shockwave. kevin lewis tells us the story. vintage photographs part of the ntsb document dump, dozens of transcribed witness interviews, including one man who saw a white flash and felt a shockwave. in

we now know that 68 were injured. officials had previously said around 35. five months before the explosion, montgomery county cited management for storing combustible materials and utility closets. the ntsb said that the management company later change the lock to the meter room but never provided the fire department with a new set of keys. matters because 16 days prior to the blast, firefighters responded to the building for an odor of natural gas, but cannot access the 61-year-old meters. now under microscopic review. also was a very detailed progress report with the cause still to be determined. nancy: vandalism in northeast after somebody torched a pride flag. the police are calling this a possible hate crime. the flag's owner said she was shocked.
