alison: new information now in a terrifying kidnapping case in weston.police have just released this sketch of the person wanted for dragging a moment into the woods and trying to sexually assault her. brianne carter is live with the latest today. brianne: here is the latest information. the police have been handing out -- we know they canvassed the area last night, all of this after what happened in this stretch of very busy road. tonight, this new image of the man police believe is behind the abduction and it tempted assault of a 22-year-old woman. police say the man is said to be in his late 20's or early 30's with a beard and stocky build. he was last seen wearing a red baseball hat. some residents are concerned the image may not be enough to track him down. >> a beard and baseball hat, how common is that? briann

democrats ready to push for impeaching president trump. steve says he will introduce articles of impeachment. he says the president has failed the presidential test the world leadership in response to the violence in charlottesville. a new poll shows 40% of americans are in favor of impeachment. meanwhile, president trump is not backing down on his support of confederate statues and monuments around the country, posted several tweets this morning saying it is sad to see the history and culture of this country torn apart. he went on to mention several monuments being removed and wondering who is next. president called the removal of statues and monument "foolish." some rain may be headed our way. doug hill joining us now with your first forecast. doug: the past hour or so, we have had cloudiness in the metro area, but it has cleared out. check this out. plenty of sunshine. very warm and

that fire was quickly brought under control and no one was hurt. the cathe cause is under investigation. larry: schools in the district are starting to make a great. this news is making parents very proud. sam ford is live with a closer look at the numbers. sam: i am outside watkins elementary school. a double celebration here for the renovated school and test scores from standardized tests taken last spring. with that countdown, the mayor and kids cut the ribbon officially reopening watkins elementary after it was closed for a year for $39 million. >> it is worth it. is a great school, and now we have a good building. used themayor also occasion to mention the test scores. >> watkins elementary school, a 12% increase in english slang the charts

d.c.'s auditors said improvements were needed to keep costs a down for future projects. first, design the buildings before hiring a contractor. second, don't just hire one firm. mayor bowser challenged the idea that the school was over budget, saying the city often picks a number to get started on renovation, knowing it will cost more. >> i think the original number was $60 million. we haven't renovated a high school for $60 million in more than 10 years, so that was never the actual number. nathan: duke ellington school is set to teach 600 students. d.c.'s auditor recommends: locating some high school classes from other classes inside the new campus to create better value for taxpayers. dgs stands by their work. >> we are the district of columbia. we are charged with creating the

contributors to society. d.c.'s auditors says there's another fact that alarms her. it is going to cost $700 million on the loan payments for this project and other projects around the district. that is more than the entire police department budget. >> a harsh message today from virginia governor teri mcauliffe towards president trump. mcauliffe says he doesn't want the president to come to charlottesville if he continues giving speeches that divide the country. he blasted the president over what he says is a failure at providing leadership. he added that tearing down statues wasn't the most important issue. instead, it is confronting racial division. president trump has yet to speak with the family of heather heyer, the girl killed during the charlottesville protests. the white house says it is workina

meet. president trump has been under fire for not initially denouncing the hate groups and saying both sides were to blame, but the president has had kind words for heyer and her family, calling her incredible. >> the fight over confederate statues, now on capitol hill. minority leader nancy polo seat is calling for the removal of the statues from the capital and has asked house speaker paul ryan to support legislation she has proposed. each state is allowed to place two statues of its choosing in the capital. the issue of confederate statues and monuments has become tension-filled. someoneun county, vandalizing a statue honoring confederate soldiers. this was on the courthouse ground in leesburg. jeff goldberg has the latest. jeff: a confederate soldiers monument on the grounds of the loudoun county courthouse. authorities would not tell us where the vandalism

but there is an area where there is some power washing that took place. earlier this morning, we saw water on these bricks. according to the loudoun county sheriff's office, a person or persons fanned a lysed the statue sometime after midnight. obscene language was spray-painted on the base of the statue. crews had the spray paint pretty much cleaned up by around 10:00 this morning, and everyone we spoke with condemns the vandalism, but opinions differ on whether or not this statue should be removed or remain by the courthouse. >> i just don't think it should be torn down. it reminds us. it is history. we learn from our history. that is important. >> this statue was put here in 1908 for whites of premises agenda, and we are in 2017 -- white supremacy's
