waiting is an understatement. there are thousands of people in line. they have been in line since before 6:00 a.m. the is independence where line zigzags. it goes all the way to 7th street. it goes around the back of the air and space museum on to the national mall. take a look at this time lapse video from earlier today about an hour and a half ago or so. you can see how lg is, how far it goes. at points, there was mild chaos. people didn't know which way the line was going. there were multiple lines. there were 24,000 pairs of the coveted glasses everyone wanted to get their hands on. you could have made a lot of money if you knew this was going to be the situation. all the people we have spoken with say they are happy, glad to be here. how long have you been here? click'

>> is it worth sitting in the heat for this? >> not at all. we had to get back in line. we were on the opposite side and they ran out. >> the national air and space museum has been rationing these coveted glasses. they were down to 24,000 this morning. in about an hour, they will all be gone. to come out,want you are more than welcome. there are lots of telescope and educational programs for the kids. there are a lot of people here. adriana: a warning for those of you who plan to capture the eclipse with a smart phone. according to experts, pointing your phone at the sun for several minutes is not a good idea. >> it could damage the electronics inside of it. >> nasa says it is ok to snap a quick photo or two,

satellite radar. still dry out there right now. by this afternoon, thunderstorms possible. and humid. your solar eclipse outlook, sunshine through about 2:00, then some thunderstorms possible. more on this in a bit. adriana: thank you. breaking from ohio. a judge shot outside the jefferson county courthouse there. the judge was walking from his car into court when he was ambushed by two suspects. returned fire and so did the probation officer. one suspect died. the other is in custody. no word yet on a motive. breaking news at home, a courtroom confrontation in clinton nearly comes to blows. antonio williams was in court today charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the death

in the courtroom. >> antonio williams was accused of killing three young girls in maryland last week. he entered the courtroom today in upper marlboro yelling, drying, resisting. contact witheye his mother, he began yelling, that's my mom. he also repeatedly told the judge i am not the one you're looking for. his mother and other relatives wept inside the courtroom. others became angry. then there was a near brawl. it took three sheriff's deputies to restrain williams as he was carried away. rescheduleorced to this bond hearing. last thursday, while his mother worked overnight, williams was babysitting his two sisters and small cousins, all girls. the mother found the older girl dead in one bed

morning. the two-year-old baby unharmed. police say williams has confessed, didn't even try to what detectives described as an extremely gruesome scene. >> this has to be one of the worst days we have ever had. the judge in this case decided to hold the defendant without bond pending a competency hearing to determine whether he is competent to proceed in this case. deputies forced to clear the courtroom with a lot of emotions. the judge has ordered a mental evaluation for williams later this week. she hopes to have the bond hearing next week at this time. unfortunately this afternoon, we are no closer to a motive or knowing if williams is capable of standing trial. >> a former prince george's county school aid will spend 75 years behind bars. dead ofonvict

abusing children. a teachers aid in glenarden, he is accused of recording children performing sex acts. today was his federal sentence. overseas, a man is in custody following another van attack, this time in southern france. a 35 euro man crashed a van into a bus shelter, injuring one man. an hour later, the man hit another bus shelter, killing one woman. able to capture him after witnesses gave the license number to police. he was not listed as a terror suspect. happening tonight, trump is set to deliver his first primetime address to the nation as president. theaddress is regarding path forward in afghanistan and south asia.
