restaurants donating proceeds to relief efforts and one of them bowl.'s chili >> dozens of restaurants in the d.c. area are taking part in this one-day effort to help houston. this is called d.c. dines out port houston with a portion of the proceeds sold all -- in all of the meals will go to relief programs. here, they scrambled a and fried bacon very early. this restaurant will get 5% of its take to the cause. more than three dozen restaurants will also take part. patrons think it is an easy way to help out. >> i think it is a great deal. a very great deal. houston, texas people, they need the help. other people should help out. >> we should come together, black, white, at the end of the day, somebody needhe

together and help. >> the black restaurant group doing it part, saying it will match all money raised at his restaurants today, up to $100,000 and donate it to help houston. in northwest washington, suzanne kennedy. adrianna: we are on your side with the latest help from home, prince george's county schools are donating 1000 backpacks to do and in houston. staffers will fill them with school supplies and send them to texas. they are hoping to also raise $130,000 to support the students in houston, about one dollar for every student in the prince george's district. and fairfax-based rescue foundation helping pets impacted by harvey. they are planning a trip to the gulf coast and collecting items like dog and cat food, kitty litter, so far, one donation drop-off location and 40 tales send them in the mail -- for details, send
