this morning on "world news now," urgent warnings throughout japan as north korea launches another missile over its airspace. the secretary of state here in the u.s. calling the action provocative and demanding china and russia take direct action against kim jong un's regime. and pluresident trump visit the storm zone saying the government is 100% behind them. this as he says a plan to protect d.r.e.a.m.ers is in the works. but is congress on board? and steve mnuchin speaking out. >> after a firestorm over him requesting a government plane for his overseas honeymoon, hear his explanation for what happened.

and a trip to the dentist for jennifer garner. didn't just give her gorgeous smile a tuneup, it also gave her the feels. revealing why she teared up at the office while a certain song came on the radio. what that song was and why she's so giggly on this friday, september 15th. from abc news, this is "world news now". >> she really enjoyed that trip to the dentist. >> i can just imagine what that song was. in the meantime, i'll have what she's having. good morning on this friday. we're going to start with the moments of terror early this morning in japan as north korea sent another missile soaring overhead. >> it's the second launch this month. the japanese prime minister called it unacceptable. secretary of state rex tillerson called it provocative. >> so the launch is the subject of today's emergency meeting of the united nations security council and we get more from abc's david kerley. >> reporter: it is the second north korean missile to fly ov

japan in the past month. an extremely aggressive move by kim jong un. in japan, alarms blaring, according to the japanese media, which says the missile was launched near pyongyang, passing over the japanese island of hokkaido, landing in the pacific ocean. according to nhk, no attempt was made to shoot down the missile. president trump speaking aboard air force one saying he's working with the chinese on pressuring north korea and trying to reassure americans. >> the people of this country will be very, very safe. >> reporter: the pentagon says initial assessments suggest this was an intermediate range missile, not an intercontinental missile, which could reach the united states. the launch coming days after the u.n. passed additional sanctions against north korea. the launch comes less than two weeks after north korea tested what it says is a hydrogen bomb that can be mounted on an intercontinental ballistic

missile, its sixth and most powerful nuclear test. david kerley, abc news, washington. and there's concern about russia this morning. nato is keeping a close eye on war games being conducted by the russian military. russia says the exercises involve nearly 6,000 of its own troops along with aircraft, tanks and artillery. but estonia, which is a nato member says up to 100,000 russians could take part. the last time russia conducted this type of war game, they were followed by an annexation of crimea. 30,000 workers have fanned out across florida and they've restored 60% of the power. >> president trump flew to florida to get a birth's eye view of the damage, meet with first responders and hand out sandwiches.

and we're learning more from a nursing home. molly hunter has the latest. >> reporter: nurse judy from is being hailed as a hero. her quick thinking leading to the evacuation of this hollywood nursing home. it all started at 3:00 a.m. wednesday morning. an hour later, another patient and an hour later, a third emergency call from the same nursing home across the road. >> i, along with another colleague, decided that we needed to take a walk over to see if we could offer our assistance. >> what did you exactly see? >> we saw a bunch of staff, and they were extraordinarily stressed and panicked. >> reporter: frum tells tom llamas the staff at the nursing home was panicked, doing everything humanly possible. >> i felt it was an extreme situation, that we had to get people out. >> reporter: another nursing home evacuated thursday. the oppressive heat dangerous without air conditioning, especially for the elderly. more than 2 million people still without power across the state. and emergency crews still working around the clock to get florida back up and running. president trump and first lady melania making a quick, three-hour trip down to florida. >> we are there for you 100%.

>> reporter: on the ground, thanking the first responders. >> it's been an honor. >> reporter: and relief workers. >> hello, everybody. who wants a banana? >> reporter: and touring damage from the air of some of the hardest-hit area, heading south along the gulf coast to meet with residents and victims. and president trump came to naples, 96% of the county lost power. there are still a lot of downed trees and power lines. and there's still a curfew, everyone off the road by 9:00 p.m. >> and tropical storm jose remains a concern as it lingers in the atlantic. it's expected to regain hurricane status. as it moves between the carolinas and bermuda. and it may cause beach erosion along the east coast because of sustained rough surf. there's a slight chance jose could brush the east coast next week. president trump has acknowledged that a plan is in the works to protect the 800,000 immigrants known as d.r.e.a.m.ers. but he said no deal has

reached as yet. his comments followed a white house dinner with chuck schumer and nancy pelosi who announced they had struck a deal on daca without agreeing to a border wall. but the president says he's not budging on that wall. >> we're working on a deal for daca, but a lot of it has to do with security. we want very heavy security at the border. we want surveillance. we want a lot of things at the border. and ultimately, we don't want them to obstruct with the wall. >> the word of the possible deal has infuriated the president's conservative allies. but paul ryan described it as discussion, saying there were no negotiations and no agreement. the president has signed a senate resolution condemning the deadly violence in charlottesville in august. but hours before the signing he repeated his initial comments that both sides were to blame for the violence. in comments on board

one he seemed to equate the anti-racist protesters with white nationalists. the secretary of the treasury has confirmed that he requested a government aircraft. he said it was a question of national security and not for his personal convenience. mnuchin says he needed access to secure communications. officials telling abc news though, that he withdrew the request after being told it would look bad for a man worth more than $300 million to fly to glamorous stops across europe on taxpayers' dime. >> it was a portable office so that i could be available. and ultimately, we withdrew the request. i've never asked the government to pay for my personal travel. >> treasury secretaries in the past have flown commercial on domestic trips but have used air force jets on official travel overseas. the city of dallas has removed a statue of confederate general robert e. lee. that statue of lee on horseback

along with a confederate soldier had stood in a park since 1936. it was driven through the streets to a warehouse. before the removal, the mayor called it a symbol of injustice. middle schoolers in oregon never expected this when they started the school year. >> their classroom looks like something out of hogwarts. the teacher spent the summer decorating the room with all sorts of stuff from harry potter movies. he's a big harry potter fan, surprise, surprise. he apparently had been collecting all these objects and trinkets for years. >> the best part of it all, he says was hearing the audible gasps from the students when they saw the room for the first time. >> he wanted to get the kids excited to go to school. that is a good strategy right there. >> they had a lot of it, they had a lot of gear in the personal collection and added to it, he says, using a couple hundred of his own money. many teachers are contributing to their classes anyway.

it's been well over a year since "hamilton" won the tony for best musical. its scores are so moving that it's left a mark on jennifer garner all these years later. >> she posted a video of a phone conversation where she appears to be slightly under the influence and she's explaining her emotional reaction to some background music at the dentist's office. >> they did "hamilton." and i started crying and couldn't stop. and they said, are you okay? and i said it's so beautiful.
