as the story continues to develop. follow us at wjla.com and on facebook and on twitter. back in the metro area, catherine hoggle set to face a judge in just over an hour. last night hoggle was indicted for the murders over her two children, jacob and sarah, who disappeared in 2014. they have never been found. brian hughes is live at the court house where hoggle is scheduled to appear in a short time. brian: melanie, catherine hoggle was set to appear this morning in district court right across the street. her attorney was going to argue dropped misdemeanor charges dropped, the things have changed dramatically. she will appear in circuit court after being indicted on murder charges. this comes about three years after her 2 young kids disappeared in 2014. at the time they were only three and two years old. as you mentioned, they have never been found.

has been the prime suspect, and is reportedly the last person to see them. she has been ruled incompetent to stand trial. she has been in a mental facility, and previous misdemeanor charges were set to expire today. now these new charges will ensure that hoggle will stay in custody. her attorney tells me he never was made aware of these new charges. i spoke to him over the phone this morning. he says, "we will see what happens in court." investigators continue to look for these kids. hoggle has never said where they are, but she has always consistently said that they are safe. more details expected in this case. richard reid is standing by and will be inside the courtroom for hearings set for 1:30 this afternoon. live in rockville, ryan hughes, abc7 news. melanie: developing now completes our pregnant teacher in maryland was killed. this comes as her boy

mysterious drowning in a pool, the coroner in the case changed his ruling from accidental drowning to homicide, and that is what led to charges of murder, second-degree murder while against the man convicted filed against the man convicted of those charges, and behind prison gates for 20 years. tonight we talked to him exclusively from prison, where he has never wavered in maintaining his innocence, that he is a victim of a campaign to put him there, that the drowning was accidental, and his daughter is out to prove it. tonight we delve into the case, fascinating case of this hollywood royalty family, music industry royalty family, and the tragedy experienced, and their search for justice. and the question of whether or not they happen wron-- have been wronged in that search for justice. melanie: after 20-some years in this case, was there anything new you were able to discover? elizabeth: we do know that his lawyers are going to file a

questioning why the coroner in ,his case changed his ruling inexplicably. we confront the corner, actually, and asked him why he changed his ruling to homicide 2 years after she drowned in the swimming pool. what made him change his mind? that is something we will hear a lot more about. and his supporters feel that the ruling was changed to homicide under pressure from the jackson family. the jackson family, on the other hand, maintains they knew all along that this was something suspicious. they felt this was a murder. and a find a wrongful death lawsuit and very publicly went out and called for justice to be done, and they feel like justice was done. although it is interesting to note that the three sons, the musical group, are now saying that after 20 years in prison, don maybe should be released on parole. a showing of mercy, actually. me

lot going on. what are some of the highlights when you reflect on your long career in washington? doug: blizzards and this and that. the blizzard of 1996 probably the biggest snowstorm. the big thing i take away from 33 years in washington is just the number of people i've gotten to know and the young people in this business i have taken under my wing. it just means a lot to see them flourishing in the business, doing well. melanie: you have been a mentor for many good we -- we will press you one more time. doug: this afternoon, maybe an isolated shower. otherwise, partly sunny and muggy. weekend, muggy, sunny, 80's. that is a wrap. melanie: paul the best to you. keep in touch. don't be a stranger. much success
