be in the rubble of her school afterall. nancy: the girl was thought to be in the rubble but now word there are no children inside. however a woman may be there. alison: it's an eerily quiet scene there as the rescuers call for silence to hope they can hear someone, anyone in the rubble and save them. carlos grande is there with an update. carlos: for days rescuers focused on the elementary school. it was once a building and in the hopes of finding anyone trapped inside. crews signaling for silence, listening for signs of life. believing there was a 12-year-old girl trapped in the debris. now there may be no children inside alive or dead and the sounds they were responding to were perhaps a maintenance worker. after cross-referencing names and talking to parents at the school it's determined all children have been accounted for. 19 children and six teachers died there. the death toll of the massive earthquake more than 230.

rescue operations are just as dire. familiar calls for silence, digging through debris and sniffer dogs at the site of an office building where five taiwanese citizens are buried between the rubble. at the site of another downed building. anxious relatives wait for news. this woman saying, "i think that is what kills us the most. desperation of not knowing." so far over 50 people have been rescued since the quake. mexico's president calling for three days of mourning. i'm carlos grande, abc news, mexico city. nancy: among the rescuers out there, freedom the dog, a rescue dog credited with saving more than 50 lives in natural disasters across mexico. she is fitted with shoes and can climb through areas that may be covered in broken glass and other objects and she has special goggles that she wears with this. she is working with the mexican navy to climb through places that humans are not

a convenience store. police say he fought back killing the attacker. this happened in northeast washington, short walk away from union station. sam ford has how it all unfolded. sam: we are at a park where a 16-year-old was killed. a 19-year-old was killed. because they came together in this park. we just got off the phone with if 16-year-old's father. the victim's father who told us his son is a twin. zaire kelly. he has another twin zion kelly. zion, the other twin came through the park earlier and someone tried to accost him. he said they were trying to rob people. he managed to get home, just a few doors from the park. well, he texted zaire according to the father and said they are robbing people in the park.

alison: a disturring discovery on the campus of georgetown university. for the third time in recent weeks a swastika was found inside a residence hall. this is rosh hashanah, the celebration of the jewish new year. suzanne kennedy has the school's response. suzanne: the discovery was made as the campus was marking the jewish holiday of rosh hashanah. the university president issuing a statement saying this type of hatred will not be tolerated on campus. this is the building where the graffiti was found. it was in a restroom of the l.x.r. residence hall that a swastika was drawn on a women's restroom stall. there was threatening and dur rogatory languaged a -- derogatory language against women. this is the third incident of swastikas found on campus in the last three weeks and the second time for the residents hall. >> this

ford talked with the teen's father and he joins us live. sam? yes. well i just talked to the victim's father. the father's name is curtis kelly who says he has two twin sons. zaire kelly killed last night and zion. he said zion came through the park earlier and accosted by the would-be robbers. he managed to run home a few doors away. he texased him and told him -- he texted him and told him to be careful. staire got to the park and there is a confrontation. he is dead and so is according to police the person who accosted him. >> i am zaire kelly, thurgood marshall. sam: 16-year-old zaire kelly last night in his college-pound program hours before he was gunned down in
