and isis taking responsibility for launching a rocket. let's go right to our chief global affairs correspondent martha raddatz. >> good morning robin. this is secretary mattis' first trip to afghan stan. this seemed a clear message thomas tiss from the taliban which claimed they were targeting his airkt. isis is also claiming responsibility and released a video they claim shows the attack. in addition to the rocket that was launched a u.s. military official says 40 rounds of mu nigss hit the airport. the majority of those were rocket propelled grenades. at the time of the attack secretary mattis was at the presidential palace. he said an attack on an international asht anywhere in the world is a

washington! i'm melanie hastings. here is a czech of your top stories. the search continues for a missing college student, last seen in norfolk, virginia. he was from prince georges county, missing for more than a week. her cell phone was found in a dumpster, home run mini cooper was recovered else where. she was seen on surveillance video last monday entering a military base on her way to work in a sandwich shop. she never made it. ten police officers are on their way to puerto rico to help with hurricane maria relief efforts. the officers will get 3 days of paid leave to help state police with whatever puerto rico needs. they will, then, volunteer on their own time. hot and steamy, brian, summer doesn't want to leave. it does not, through the afternoon, a run at the upper soil today. could feel like the low 90s when you factor in humidity. should be 75. isolated shower or sprinkle can't be ruled out into the afternoon. most of us remain dry.
