were murdered and dumped arundee not saying much more. just a couple hours ago they announced they will be having a press conference at 1:30 this afternoon to announce an investigation into homicides that are believed to be gang-related. there were a number of these homicides over the last several weeks, and arrests have been made. the police saying that they are gang-related. we understand that federal authorities are also involved in this matter. really not much more information coming out at this point. we do know that the annapolis, crownsville area, discovery of these remains. 1:30 press conference going to be held here at anne arundel county police headquarters. we will be there, and we will bring you the latest news as it becomes available. in millersville, brad bell, abc7 . melanie: also breaking right now, police are investigating a

a bus stop this morning. live inhes is gaithersburg this noon. what do we know so far? ryan: police say the woman was on her way to work, waiting for the bus at this. come when she was attacked. we're told taken into the -- we are taken into the woods and raped. gaithersburg police responded out here and a k-9 set up a perimeter around the wooded area. a large response along the area of watkins mill road. this morninge call after the suspect already got away. on the ground are cameras, detectives capturing multiple bags of evidence near the woods and this bus stop. they were taking photos and canvassing the neighborhood, trying to get more information directly across the street from this. . as you can imagine from neighbors living out here, they tell me they are now disturbed

right now -- they tell us there were no witneshiarea, and right now and no one is in custody. ryan hughes, abc7 news. melanie: developing now, and afterschool worker in potomac accused of inappropriately touching a child. roy simmons iii turned himself in and confessed to police yesterday. he faces charges related to an incident last year. a girl alleges she was grabbed by simmons during an afterschool program at carderock springs elementary school. as night we spoke to simmons' father, who says his son is a good person. is, my son is innocent, and until proven guilty become he remains innocent. my son is a perfect son, loving, caring. he is a christian young man. he would never do what he is accused of doing. he has won numerous awards for his work with children. melanie: detectives are standing by their investigation. they are now asking the public to come forward if they know of any more potential incidents involving simmons.
