more than 1,500 homes and businesses are gone. burned. 20,000 people ordered to flee. >> i don't know if i have a home when i go home. >> this is your life. jonathan: among places evacuated those are the gurneys and the beds removed from hospitals. we are seeing the video of an attorney mobile home community destroyed in rosenberg. i mean gone. we are told several people are missing at this hour from the community. nancy: a wildfire in california grown to 200 acres to draw close to 150 firefighters on the scene. it broke out a week ago. the rough terrain made it a challenge to get it under control. the u.s. forest service closed several trails as a precaution. today's rain brought much needed relief. not just for the firefighters out there but for the farms and the lawns in our area. steve rudin is tracking this for us. steve: shower

central america. hurricane nate is the fourth hurricane to slam into the united states this year. jonathan: it's only a category one but look at the damage it did. also with this being the fourth storm it makes it the most active season in a decade. it's stretching the resources thin. cheryl conner spoke with the rest cross and the growing need. >> red cross volunteer rebecca callahan stays backed up and ready to go. but at this point she is staying local. she used up her vacation time when she deployed to texas following hurricane harvey. >> it only takes that impact once. you can't have that direct effect on a person's life that easily. >> the raw emotion attracted her husband to volunteer. now he is doing disaster response with fema. >> things are getting better fast. >> but it has been a mission. after four hurricanes made landfall in the u.s. in the past six weeks. that includes hurricane nate this weekend. >> the guys were doing

>> dog in need of the life saving medicine captured her attention. and the need continues here at home. you see trash bags outside of an apartment building in northwest. rebecca callahan responded to a fire here last week. with so many hurricane deployments she is asked to volunteer more often. paul, the reege fall disaster officer for the red cross spoke with us by phone from puerto rico. >> the red cross volunteer from your community might be in puerto rico tonight working. so we need you to be the volunteer to go to the house fire. >> time and money. both are still in demand following the most active hurricane season since 2005. cheryl conner, abc7 news. jonathan: i want to show you new video to give you the idea the extreme lenk it takes to get folks supplies. this is the coast guard.

kathleen: baltimore county police say 68-year-old laverne doran was arrested after jumping on the hood of a school bus. he told the officers someone had thrown something at his vehicle from the bus. >> there is more to whatever that was. than what we know. >> this mother of six wants answers. >> this is a criminal thing. i would like to see mental health look more into it than just the loss. you know lock the person up for a few days. community service. because the issue wasn't dealt with. hopefully you know we can get a mental health angle looked at. >> doran did not respond to our requests for comment. he is charged with disturbing the peace. disorderly conduct. obstructing a school bus driver and malicious destruction of property. he was arrested and later released on his own recognizance. he has no prior criminal record. >> the bus driv

the investigators he refused to open the door when he was confronted by doran. that is when he said doran jumped on the hood. the bus driver decided to drive to the closest police precinct. instead an off-duty police officer in the area intervened. no one was hurt. >> the children may have a story to tell but i don't think, they are no worse for the wear. they don't appear to have been traumatized. the driver made a good call. >> the baltimore police are still investigating to see if anyone was thrown from the bus. in baltimore, kathleen cairns, abc7 news. jonathan: caught on video. a whole new meaning to the term "ambulance chasing. recreation how the wild ride ended. we'll show you. nancy: new information who was there as the white nationals rallied in charlottesville on a day that turned deadly.

if ed gillespie would like to see abortion banned, i would like to see i would like to see i would like to see that ed gillespie never becomes governor. jonathan: it really is fire season in california. we are tracking a developing story in california. you are looking at a fire burning in the anaheim area. this one is threatening homes. this is separate from the major fire in napa. that is hundreds of miles north of the fire. this is where another fire outbreak blamed for one death. some 1,500 homes destroyed. they have very strong winds blowing out there.

they have had drought conditioners for some time. this is prime for the fires. we will let you know new developments. nancy: authorities turned to the brother of the man responsible for the las vegas massacre to hope they will help them figure out a motive. eric paddock interviewed for hours by the f.b.i., profiler and psychologists. investigators are stumped why stephen paddock shot a large concert crowd killing 58 people and injuring hundreds before taking his own life. jonathan: funeral services held for the west virginia woman among the 58 victims. 50-year-old denise burditus was killed. she died in her husband's arms after being shot. she survived by her two children. nancy: new information now on the white nationalists rally in charlottesville in august that turned deadly. the anti-demission league says it drew five times more people than any other white nationalist rally

decade. they have identified at least 200 different people coming from 35 states. jonathan: saving daca may no longer be the done deal that democrats thought they had with president trump. the president now has a set of immigration demands he is asking for in exchange to protect the so-called dreamers. we are talking a lot of demands. the president's list includes more than two dozen requests. among them border security that includes the wall he campaigned on and hiring 10,000 more immigration officers. >> he is open to a deal to have a broader policy to address dabbling dabbling. >> chuck schumer and nancy pelosi reacted to the latest news saying this goes beyond what is

jonathan: must see video from a wild police chase. they began cornering the ambulance. forget it? who needs a road? turns off the road and goes into a field. eventually he makes it back to the road where the officers get in front of him. they do the number to slam on the brakes answer stop everything. it did. they got the guy out behind the wheel and arrested them. nancy: meantime the d.c. bomb squad responding to a call at the home for sale this afternoon. they were investigating a report of after a grenade inside the house. they determined it was inert and it did not pose a threat. jonathan: i wonder if that helps with sales. crime alert as the police are asking for help to identify the bank robber with unmistaken scarf. he held up an m&t bank in
