the same curriculum for the boy scouts allowing them to earn eagle scout rank. the abc7's instapoll is this. do you agree with the decision to allow girls? nancy: the results are coming in live on the screen. brad bell is joining us with reaction from parents. brad? brad: yeah, so this decision was made at the boy scouts headquarters in texas at the big annual board meeting. but here at the boy scouts of america national capital area council they are telling us they love the idea. they are telling us for years the families have been asking for something like this. saying the schedules are too busy to run boys in one direction and girls to the other. they want to accommodate them. we have been out in the community a little bit and we have had a chance to talk to folks. we are hearing mixed opinions about the change.

should be. i think some things in this world need to be kept traditionally and for other reasons. i think it should be boys in boy scouts and girls in girl scouts. they can have events together. >> i'm sure the boy scouts stand for more than just being boys. i don't think it's that big of an issue if girls are allowed to be scouts. brases many details yet need to be worked out. when we arrived here at the council headquarters, the staff was inside doing a webinar on this change that is coming. a lot of details need to be worked out. one of the things people ask me, what are you going to call a girl who becomes a boy scout eagle scout? the answer here was you are going to call her an eagle scout. we are still working on the story. when we come back at 6:00, we will have the words of the boy scouts but also the reaction from the girl
