called police saying her husband made multiple threats about burning the house down. she said he had multiple weapons inside this home. so police evacuated the community. 10:00 lastd around night. we are in the 20,000 block of four crest lane in gaithersburg close to the golf course. you can see the door that is knocked down there. a barricade went on for about 4.5 hours overnight but the wife did make it out safely. home,fficers got into the the man was dead and they say he shot himself but no one else was injured. again, what we know is that there was a barricade overnight with one man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. adrianna: it is a movement that is sweeping across social media. all in an effort to end sexual harassment. it all began with a simple tweet from alyssa milano.

take precautions if they are in the area. ofsocial media, reports students saying that the school is on lockdown. couple of minutes ago, howard university tweeted out that they were anonymously known tonight that a potential shooter was on campus. "we took the call seriously and police are investigating. because the safety of our students and staff are the number one priority, the administration building has been vacuated." we are hearing of possible shots being fired near the health science library but nothing has been confirmed at this point. there is a very large police presence and they are going building to building around the campus, trying to find if there is indeed an active threat. police tell me right now that they have nothing going on right now. we did just get word from the scene with the students that they heard rumors circulating and they are concerned but nothing has been confirmed at the end.

active shooter situation. it didn't come out until a long time after when rumors started shooting -- when rumors started going. officials say the call came in a on 6th streetoon northwest. the problem with all of this is that they got conflicting calls. so police are manning both they say that nothing has been confirmed at this point. but they encourage people to take precaution in the area. we are being told that out of an abundance of caution, the building was evacuated. we are not told of any of the injuries -- told of any injuries. i want to send it to sam ford who is live on the scene. he is covering this. what can you tell us?

>> at this vantage point, we are here at how workplace and georgia avenue and police are going to move us back further. the situation as i understand it a call d.c. police got from someone in one of the academic support buildings. they say they have since been searching and they are not able to find any active shooters but they have been back in touch with the person who made the call. so you have a situation here where you have a numbers of police vehicles on the scene. a parade of vehicles just came by. officers here, i'm not sure if they are blocking this off or not. but clearly they are talking to people who go to school here. i haven't actually got any of the howard television spokespeople on the phone at this point but clearly something is going on here. and from the official police word at this
