>> from abc 7 news, this is a breaking news alert. kimberly: we are now learning several people have been shot in alexandria. the police say that two are de ad, another seriously injured.

street. what went wrong there? by all thean tell flashing lights, this is active. this is the intersection of north pickett and duke street, near the cvs and landmark honda. traffic is moving smoothly. this is north pickett. the street is shut down for blocks as the police investigate the shooting that happened at the all veterans park down the street. i just spoke with the public information officer with the alexandria police department. she confirmed about 8:45 10 i, three people were shot at the park, all three male. have died. the third was rushed to the hospital in serious condition. we also spoke with some residents affected by the road closure and they don't know what to think right now. >>

maryland after another burglary off campus. cheryl conner is live in college park with the alarming details in this latest incident. knowl: yeah, we are on road and university of maryland and the university of maryland, close to campus. the police say there is no connection with the weekend incidents. another burglary, right across from the university of maryland, has students talking about another emailer. -- another email alert. >> for stuff like that to happen is disturbing. theyl: the email said that university of maryland was notified about an off-campus burglary and the 4600 block of knox road, just after 3 a.m. saturday. >> we get these alerts a few times a month. so it is concerning to keep hearing that. cheryl:

police that the man left her bedroom wouldn't she woke up. he did not take anything. a spokesperson for prince george's county police says that investigators are confident the case is not connected with what we reported last month, a sexual road, alsoguilford off-campus housing. a woman will come to a man punching her, then followed the string of burglaries involving university of maryland students. our landlord stressed she has not had a house broken into. is no wordight there on if the door was unlocked or if the man forced his way inside. again, the weekend incident happened on knox road. the pg county police say she was not sexually assaulted. no arrests have been made in any of these cases. live in college park, cheryl conner, abc 7 news. kimberly:
