$16 billion would help the federal flood insurance program to pay an influx of hurricane harvey related claims. the funds will also benefit puerto rico tremendously. most of the island is still without power but today, one tends of the schools on the island have real opened despite not having electricity in the classrooms. many students have left the classrooms and have enrolled in schools in miami and orlando. the wild weather in the southeast. parts of georgia and the carolinas were under tornado watches under night -- watches overnight. it knocked out power to tens of thousands of customers and damaged homes. we did have a bit of a damp start to the day but it is dry right now. the meteorologist has a look at the forecast.

was in her 70's and neighbors say this should have been prevented. we understand it and it's saturday afternoon right here on oakland way. there was a short police chase on foot. we understand that for part of it the suspect was in the nude. the 23 euro broke into a woman's her and he allegedly robbed and tried to rape her and tried to kill her. the suspect from southeast d.c. is behind bars again. less than a month ago he was charged with first-degree sex abuse of another woman. a d.c. judge chose to release him under what was supposed to be high-intensity supervision but something went wrong. we try to watch out for each other around the neighborhood but we aren't perfect. , ifeverybody needs to think it was their mom or sister or daughter.
