10 others injured. a gunman opened fire during services this morning inside the first act as church in sutherland springs, outside of san antonio. our cheryl conner is that the live dusk right now. we are standing by for a press conference. in the meantime, let us check in now with cheryl about what we know regarding the shooter. he has been identified as devin patrick kelley. a white man in his 20's. he is from about 35 miles away from first baptist church. we are learning that the pasto r and his wife were out of town but his 14-year-old daughter was killed in the shooting. families are in tears, waiting to see at their loved ones are safe. thegency vehicles filled town of sutherland

the victims of the shooting but also for the shooter. and his family. that is the latest here tonight in arlington. anchor 1: the situation in texas is still unfolding. you can be the first to know when breaking news happens with the wjla abc app. woodbridge girl is missing again, just weeks after police put out an amber alert for her adoption. -- for her abduction. police say she left on her own but she is in danger. we had the latest. melissa, our policing that she may have left with a gang member? melissa: police do not have any updates but they continue to check on leads in order to bring this girl home safe. in threeecond time weeks, prince william county police are looking for this girl.

right behind me when i come from school. for her to be missing again -- wow. melissa: she was allegedly abducted from a house party by a self proclaimed member of ms-13. she was later found safe and returned to her family. but police say the man who took her is facing a series of charges. around 11:30 p.m. saturday night, her family says she left her home on her own, and has not returned. what is scary to most folks is that they do not know why she keeps disappearing but they do hope again for her safe return. >> my daughter walks home from school. is scary.t, it especially, with everything going on in the world. is a mom of a teenage girl. >> i talked to her about walking

took place in a church, a place of worship. this is where these people were innocently gunned down. we mourn their loss. we support their families. we appreciate the first responders and what they have done to help respond to this challenge. they are continuing in their efforts as they put all of the pieces of a very complex puzzle together to try to provide their community all of the answers that they need and deserve. unfortunately, i am sad to tell you, and to confirm at this moment in time, that there are 26 lives that have been lost. if that number will rise or not. we just know that it is too many. and this will be a long-suffering mourning for those in pain. we

wants information about what is going on. we would love to provide you more. if you came here wanting to know the motive behind the shooting, you will leave here disappointed. we are unable to release fax to protect the integrity of the information. we will release it in a timely fashion. we are here assisting the sheriff, joe tackett. wants information about what is going on. there are multiple agencies involved. we are all working together to thisrt the sheriff in investigation. at approximately 11:20 a.m. this morning, the suspect was seen at a gas station. he was dressed in black. the suspect crossed the street to the church. exited his vehicle and began firing at the church. the suspect moved to the right side of the church and continued to fire. he entered the church and continued

resident grabbed his rifle and engaged the suspect. the suspect dropped his rifle which was a assault type rifle and fled from the church. pursued thetizen suspect at that time. a short time later, as law-enforcement responded, the suspect ran to the wilson county line. he passed out and then was found deceased in his vehicle. do not know ife it was a self-inflicted gunshot won't or if he was shot by our local citizen that engaged in. the suspect has not been completely identified. we believe he is a young, white male in his early 20's. he was dressed in all black, tactical type gear and was wearing a ballistic vest. there

multiple weapons in the vehicle and the vehicle is being processed by our texas rangers. there is a lot of work to be done in this investigation. that there are 23 deceased in the church. two outside of the church. and one that was transported with injuries is now deceased bringing the total to 26. we have a approximately 20 that were transported oakley and in hospitals in san antonio with from minorat vary to severe. the ages of the victims range from five to 72. there is a lot of work to be done. we are only hours into the investigation that will take a significant amount of time. we will continue to process the information as it becomes available. we know you have a lot of questions but there are many that we cannot answer. we have multiple crime scenes.

where the suspects vehicle was located. we are following up on the suspect and where he is from. we have a lot of people to interview. we have texas rangers at all of the hospitals locating and interviewing those who are injured. not a lot of information to give at this point. in the state of texas, we have every resource available. texas rangers. texas highway patrol. emergency management. every resource we have available is working. at the end of this investigation, we will answer every -- any reasonable question. was the citizen injured that engaged with him? >> he was not. all to the law enforcement at all of the different levels. the collaborative
