now, abc seven news at 11:00, on your side. 26 people killed when a man went into a church in the middle of a service and opened fire. devinnman is 26-year-old kelley. cheryl conner has the latest from the live desk. cheryl: we have learned that devin kelley served in the military and was discharged with bad conduct. an air force spokeswoman is confirming that kelley was court-martialed in 2012 and discharged two years later, reportedly involving his wife and child. what caused him to commit such an evil act in a place of worship. the agony of families waiting to hear who was shot and killed at first baptist church

sutherland springs, texas. >> we are all prepared that will hear names. cheryl: it can happen anywhere. a small country church outside of san antonio now understands this morning from investigators. gunman identified as devin kelley shot and killed 23 people inside of sunday services. one person died at the hospital. 26 are dead, including the pastor's daughter, just 14 years old. >> anyone in that church you., we know they are in the presence of jesus christ right now. cheryl: the gunman started firing at about 11:20 local time. , aas he left the church resident grabbed his rifle and engage the suspect. cheryl: kelley was found a short time later dead in his car.

they were bring a church this morning when it happened. at this hospital we have 10 victims, four of them children. aunt was in the church and shot in the shoulder. a number of family friends were there. ago a gentleman named ray varney got the news when he was with his wife on their 50th wedding anniversary. four members of her family were impacted, her father dead. kimberly: and the church pastor's family was impacted too. the church pastor and his wife are typically there every sunday, but the sunday they were in oklahoma. they were driving home when this happen and their 14-year-old daughter is among the victims. she was shot and killed at the church. her father said she was the
