of an alleged victim. >> reporter: tearful moments as a former boston news anchor came before the cameras to talk about what her son says kevin spacey did to him. >> first i want to let you know that i'm here not as a journalist today but as a mom. in july 2016, actor kevin spacey sexually assaulted my son. the victim, my son, was a star struck, straight, 18-year-old young man. >> reporter: heather unruh told said her son told spacey he was of legal drinking age, even though he was just 18. >> whether he was 21

kevin spacey had no right to sexually assault him. there was no consent. kevin spacey bought him drink after drink after drink. and when my son was drunk, spacey made his move and sexually assaulted him. i want to make it clear, this was a criminal act. >> reporter: unruh on what her son told her. >> spacey stuck his hand inside my son's pants and grabbed his genitals. this was completely unexpected and my son's efforts to shift his body to remove spacey's hand were only momentarily successful. the violation continued. my son panicked. he froze. >> reporter: she says spacey insisted that her son go with him to a party. then the actor left to use the bathroom. >> a concerned woman quickly came to my very shaken son's side and asked if he was okay. she told him to run. and he did.

he ran as fast as he could, all the way to his grandmother's house. >> reporter: she says he woke up his sister, and together they called their mom. >> nothing could have prepared my son for how that sexual assault would make him feel as a man. it harmed him. and it cannot be undone. >> reporter: she says her son filed a police report last week and handed over evidence. and she says that the family is eternally grateful to the woman that told her son to leave. she says that when she saw something that she thought was wrong she acted. and they would like to thank her in person. she likely would also serve as a witness. we reached out to kevin spacey with regard to the latest allegation but did not hear back. linsey davis, abc news, new york. >> and over the last couple weeks we have heard that kevin spacey says he was seeking treatment as a result of all these new allegations. didn't respond about this one,

netflix is running away from kevin spacey. >> such a disturbing story. >> and raw emotion on display in the boston area. we're going to turn overseas to a declaration by president trump, announcing that china is not to blame for the trade abuses that he railed against during the campaign. >> president trump and xi jinping had fond words for one another at a joint news conference in beijing. as a candidate, trump had famously accused china of raping the u.s. with unfair trade deals, he now says the u.s. is actually at fault. >> i don't blame china. [ applause ] after all, who can blame a country for being able to take advantage of another country for the benefit of its citizens. i do blame past administrations for allowing this out-of-control

to grow. >> the president also expressed confidence that china can easily fix the problem with north korea by exerting more economic pressure. he said, quote, i do believe there is a solution. house republicans hope to have a final version of their tax reform bill finished by today. the $6 trillion piece of legislation is being written by the house ways and means committee. members have spent three full days making change, rejecting democratic amendments. a nonpartisan report says an old version of the house bill would add $1.7 trillion to the deficit over the next decade. senate republicans are set to release their version of that same tax reform bill today. fbi agents looking into the deadly shooting in texas may soon get help accessing the killer's cell phone. apple is now offering to provide technical assistance as we learn more about the terrifying ordeal. the camera that routinely records the service in sutherland springs was rolling when the gunman opened fire.

he is seen methodically walking up and down the aisle, going to each pew, executing panicked worshippers. and mike pence spent the day in texas, during a prayer vigil last night he declared that faith is stronger than evil and called the gunman deranged. the ntsb is not commenting on claims that roy halladay was showboating before the plane went down on tuesday. new video shows the plane making abrupt movements before the crash. investigators yesterday said they had not seen images. ntsb say his plane crashed when he made a high-energy impact into the gulf of mexico. both data recorders have been recovered. and the state department is keeping an eye on an incident involving the brother of a nba basketball player. liangelo ball

emergency crews found a pleasant surprise awaiting them as they descended on the great miami river in dayton, ohio. they were responding to 911 calls about someone in the water who might be in danger. instead, they found someone catching a wave. and new information from tech companies. former yahoo chief, melissa mayer testified that the threat from state-sponsored hackers is so enormous, even the most secure companies can fall victim.
