expected to last the next few days. add subfreezing temperatures and driving will be very dangerous. >> yeah, so we took a look at the live pictures. it looks pretty enough. those single digit conditions are stretching as far south as chicago. there's a live look across grant park. the real-feel temperature as we speak is about 7 degrees. accuweather's melissa so meliss ser joins us. >> the coldest air of the season arrives today. not only are we talking about cold air but very gusty winds. winds could gust to more than 30 miles per hour. even though a lot of the highs for today are in the 30s and 40s, that's afternoon temperatures. much of the day will be cooler than that. the wind also make it feel worse. in some places it will only feel like the teens across the northeast.

jumped into a stranger's truck and pursued him for ten miles. after hearing those shots ring out right across the street from his house where the church is located. the stranger whose truck that was that he jumped into, johnnie langendorff took this video. and the church where the attack took place is going to be demolished. the pastor says it would be too painful to worship in the place where 26 people were killed. he plans to build a memorial on site and a new church elsewhere. the kentucky doctor accused of attacking senator rand paul has pleaded not guilty to an assault charge. he is accused of tackling the senator from behind after he stepped off his lawnmower. a judge ordered boucher to stay away from paul. they have been neighbors for some 17 years. an aide to senator paul says he was the victim of an attack from a disturbed person. he is recovering from six broken ribs. don't expect to see much white smoke wafting from the

about the severe brain disease suffered by former nfl star aaron hernandez. researchers in boston showed images of his brain to the public for the first time. doctors said he had the worst case of cte of someone his age. he hanged himself earlier this year while serving a life sentence for murder. they believe the brain disease led to him becoming a convicted killer. >> we can say collectively that individuals with cte and cte of this severity have trouble with impulse control, decision making, innovation of impulses or aggression. >> cte is believed to be caused by repeated head trauma. dr. mckee says preventing those repeated hits is one of the biggest difficulties in keeping football safe. she says harm is done to the brain even while wearing a hale met. >> we're just getting a tip
