it is quite a miracle. at this hour we can still see the minivan in front of the daycare in northeast washington. the captain said he knew he had to rush into help when he heard the little voice. >> this morning we were dispatched on a call for an auto fire. anna-lysa: it is quite a miracle. when they got a call at 8 a.m., they knew that a minivan was on fire outside of a day care in northeast. what he did not know was this -- scream, but ihild do not think anybody would be in the car. anna-lysa: with the minivan completely filled with smoke coming he rushed in to save the three-year-old boy. >> the child was in the third row of the caravan. he was stuck underneath the seat. i pulled him over the second row and outside. anna-lysa: that is when the boy's mother rushed out of the daycare and held her son tight. she was inside with her

shootings in northern california. tonight, word that the shooter tried to get inside of classrooms at an elementary school but could not because it was locked down. jonathan: the police say the lockdown save the lives of those children. tim barber has been tracking the story. we still do not know who the guy is? tim: no name, no motive confirmed, but the information is still pouring into the newsroom while investigators work to piece the deadly rampage together. seven crime scenes, four dead, 10 injured, including two children. an emotional day, but we are law enforcement, this is what we do. tim: the fbi is investigating the deadly shootings that happened north of sacramento about 8 a.m. the killer randomly targeted drivers come including a mother driving her kids to school. shooter opened fire outside of an elementary school before deputies killed him.
