abc's wide world of sports just for this, slippery stairs, humanity at its finest, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat on this tuesday, november 21st. how does it end? from abc news, this is "world news now." we do say good morning, everybody on this tuesday. we're going to get started this half hour with charlie rose, the latest prominent figure to face sexual harassment allegations. >> he was suspended from cbs and pbs and bloomberg are halting distribution of "the charlie rose show" after eight women accuse him of groping and lewd phone calls. one says he repeatedly walked nude in front of her and called her late at night to recall fantasies of her swimming naked. several who worked for the show say he put his hamm

reaction. >> and rose says it is essential that these women know i hear them and that i deeply apologize for my inappropriate behavior and i am deeply embarrassed. he went on to say i always felt i was pursuing shared feelings, even though now i realize i was mistaken. meanwhile on capitol hill a new sexual harassment allegation. >> john conyers settled a claim two years ago from a woman who claims she was fired for rejecting his sexual advancements, she was paid more than $27,000 to settle the dispute. and one of the women accusing roy moore of sexual misconduct is responding to his denials. leigh corfman reiterated her claim that moore initiated a sexual encounter with her when she was 14 and denied allegations that she is politically motivated. one of the president's top aides is seemingly urging

voters to choose moore. here's cecelia vega. >> reporter: it has been days since roy moore was hait with allegations of sexual misconduct with teenagers. >> do you believe his accusers? do you believe roy moore's accusers, mr. president? >> thank you very much. >> reporter: until now, the line from the white house, alabama voters will decide. but senior counselor kellyanne conway went beyond that, bashing the democrat in the race while offering what sounded like a roy moore endorsement. >> he's strong on raising your taxes. he's terrible for property owners and doug jones is an indoctrinated liberal. >> so vote roy moore? >> i'm telling you, we want the votes in the senate to get this tax, this tax bill through. >> is that the position of this white house? that voters are

assaulting teenage girls than a democrat? >> the position of the white house hasn't changed. we feel like the people of alabama should make the determination on who their next senator should be. >> but she made a clear suggestion. >> i'm giving you the answer of the white house. >> reporter: moore has repeatedly denied the allegation, allegations by eight women, some of whom were teenagers at the time. leigh corfman tells abc news she was 14 years old when he assaulted her. >> he basically laid out blankets on the floor of his living room and proceeded to seduce me. but i was a 14 year old child, trying to play in an adult's world, and he was 32 years old. >> reporter: rather than weigh in on the scandal, president trump spent the week tweeting about everyone from hillary clinton to jeff flake over this hot mic moment. >> become the party of roy moore and donald t

>> reporter: the president tweeted, flake was caught saying bad things about your favorite president, adding his political career anyway is toast. he also tweeted about al franken. he is now facing a second accusation of sexual misconduct, this one from lindsey mentz. she says he grabbed her backside when they were posing for a photo at a fair. he says he feels bad lay if ms. mentz came away from that photo feeling disrespected. he has no plans to resign. cecelia vega, abc news, the white house. the trump administration has put north korea back on the list of states that sponsor terrorism. president trump called the move well overdue. the administration used the assassination of kim jong un's half brother at

airport as proof. it is part of an effort to stop north korea's nuclear weapons program. >> the north korean regime must be lawful. it must end its unlawful nuclear ballistic missile development. and cease all support for international terrorism, which it is not doing. >> so this is nothing new. north korea was on the list of state sponsors of terror for 20 years, until 2008. and then president george w. bush removed it, in hopes of spurring peace talks, but that didn't happen. and ever since a powerful earthquake struck haiti, the u.s. has allowed citizens to live and work in the united states. they were allowed to stay in a temporary permit program. the trump administration is ending that program, saying living conditions in haiti have improved significant limit the program

2018. the government sued to block the purchase of time-warner. they say it would decrease competition and result in higher prices for consumers. some analysts expressed surprise because at&t and time-warner are not direct competitors. they say president trump was not involved in the decision to challenge the deal. the company is confident it will defeat the suit. and breaking overnight, an air force pilot is dead and another injured after a crash near lachlan air force base, 150 miles west of san antonio. the crash involved a t-38 talon jet and is assigned there for laun lachlan. the plane usually has a crew of two, and the student and

instructor. laughlin is the ladies and gentlemen of the jury -- largest training base. and deadly explosions at a cosmetics factory. the explosions took place at the verla plant in new windsor. and it leaves one person dead and dozens injured, including several firefighters, abc's gio benitez with more. >> reporter: those dramatic images of the cosmetics plant in flames. new york's governor launching a vision after two explosions rocked verla international plant, the first at 10:15 a.m. >> multiple victims down. >> reporter: the second blast less than half an hour later. officials at one point issuing a shelter in place for residents in the area. together the explosions injuring 35 people. some of the injured, firefighters trying to help. investigators are still searching for a cause, and the big concern, potential toxins in the air from the burning plant

we have breaking news from michigan. you're looking at a gas line fire north of detroit in auburn hills. it involves a high-pressure gas main. consumer energy shut down the gas to let it burn itself out. at one point, the fire was so massive, the flames could be seen from downtown detroit, more than 30 miles away. authorities are urging caution there. new this morning, four nursing home residents are missing after that fire we told you about near philadelphia. the missing senior citizens range in age from 85 to 93. the district attorney admits the outlook for them is not good. the five-alarm fire ripped

through the barkley friends home. 27 of the 137 residents were injured. terminix has been ordered to pay a fine for the cleanup on st. john. they are reportedly paid the family a $90 million settlement. officials say they and their two sons suffered permanent paralysis. in argentina, hopes now turning to disappointment. the argentine navy says sounds that had been detected did not come from that submarine that's missing for nearly a week. >> it suffered a battery failure. >> reporter: rescue teams facing these fierce winds and massive waves, focussing their searc

the sheriff quickly took down the posts. >> in my opinion, this was an abuse of his power as a law enforcement officer. and it was an abuse of authority. >> reporter: fonseca and her supporters are claiming the sheriff used the stickers for his own political ambitions, adding since that post, fonseca and her children have become the target of cyber bullying. >> we have been getting extra family and stuff. that's disrespectful. >> may mom has always taught us to stand for what we believe. >> reporter: for now, fonseca is out on bond, accused of identity fraud in 2014. as for the sheriff, he calls her behavior disgusting but maintains neither the facebook page or the post had anything to do with his political aspirations. >> thanks elizabeth. but the daughter saying they're getting messages from people saying f your family and then said that's disrespectful? butou
