there, good times. and the season of "dancing with the stars" has come to the end. so we'll go backstage for the big finale on the skinny this wednesday, november 22nd. from abc news, this is "world news now." a good morning to you all. we'll get to the "dancing with the stars" finale in just a moment. but we have breaking news from overseas. the u.s. military is launching a major search operation overnight after a military plane crashed in the ocean off of japan in the philippine sea. >> the navy plane had 11 crew and passengers aboard. it was flying to the "uss ronald reagan" when it crashed. other aircraft from that caryier have been launched to look for that plane. >> the military is in the process of notifying the next of kin. and no matter what the condition, that is probably a difficult call for any family

from tmz, charlie rose doesn't characterize his actions as wrong. do you want to say anything to those accusers? the people that's accusing you of all these wrongdoings? >> it's not wrongdoing. >> reporter: nearly a dozen women would likely beg to differ. and rose's cbs co-hosts took their side. >> it takes a lot of courage for these women to come forward. >> reporter: in interviews with the "washington post," former employees of the charlie rose show detail unwanted advances made they say by the veteran broadcaster dating back to the early '90s, one describes a job interview at rose's country home, telling the post, he reached down her pants, and she pushed his hands away. as she wept, rose asked her, baby, oh, baby, why are you crying? she says she did not get the job. another says rose would

repeatedly walk in front of her naked. >> she reported this to the show's executive producer, and she was told that's just charlie being charlie. >> reporter: vega now says i iled. it is crushing. i deeply regret not helping them. cbs news fired rose and released a statement, saying it followed extremely intolerable behavior. said to have revolved around his pbs program. but the network reported that three women who worked at cbs also say they experienced unwanted sexual contact from rose. >> this is a moment that demands a frank and honest assessment about where we stand and more generally, the safety of women. let me be very clear. there is no excuse nor this alleged behavior. >> reporter: and from rose's other co-host, gayle king. >> he doesn't get a pass, because i can't stop thinking about the anguish of these women, what happened to their dignity, what happened to their bodies, maybe even to their careers. >> reporter: rose has apologized while disputing some of the accounts, adding i always felt that i was pursuing shared

realize i was mistaken. and now word that the face of disney animation, john lasseter also faces allegations of sexual misconduct. he sent a memo admitting missteps and plans to take a six-month leave of absence. linsey davis, new york. and president trump seems to be defending alabama senate candidate roy moore as moore goes on the offensive against his accusers. in an alabama tv appearance, moore denies ever dating underage women and says he never engaged in sexual misconduct with anybody. meanwhile, the president all but endorsed moore while discounting the sexual claims against him. >> he denies it. he totally denies it. he says it didn't happen. you know you have to listen to hem also. >> the president hasn't ruled out campaigning for moore. he said he will announce next week whether that will happen. voters will decide between moore and doug jones in 20 days. and the house has launched an ethics investigation into

allegations against congressman john conyers, after he acknowledged to using taxpayer money to settle a sexual harassment claim with an aide. he is being called on to resign as a new report arises of him making unwanted sexual advances. toward another staffer. meanwhile, jackie speier says conyers is not one of the two she referred to last week as in engaging in sexual misconduct. >> it would seem to indicate there are others on capitol hill. gabby douglas is joining two teammates in accusing a former gymnastics usa doctor of abuse. her claim came days after she was accused of victim shaming aly raisman. she says she didn't go public against dr. nasser until now because the memories were too painful. she also says she supports her teammates. >> and larry nassar has a court hearing in michigan. he's expected to plead guilty to multiple charges of sexual

assault unrelated to his work with usa gymnastics. he could face 20 years in prison and is also awaiting sentencing on child pornography charges. we do say some congratulations in the meantime this morning to the "view" co-host, meghan mccain and her new husband. mccain and the conservative pundit, ben dom niche were married at her family's ranch in arizona. >> she was given away by her father, 81-year-old senator john mccain. meghan mccain tipped her hand earlier posting a pair of slippers that said "i do", and the #almost time. about 100 attended the ceremony and celebration that followed. must have been quite a party. and coming up, why the best deals this weekend might not be at the mall. if you need a new car, you might be in luck. and chrissy teigen seems to be having a bit of an up and down week.
