>> now abc 7 news at 6:00, on your side. nancy: right now at 6:00 am a new thanksgiving tradition is on as stores open their doors. come on thed as we air, target is preparing to kick office holiday shopping season. tom roussey is live on the scene. happy thanksgiving. right thewe nailed it timing is perfect, just opening the doors at target at 6 p.m. not as crazy as some years. they got in line about 2:30.

spend a few hours or less going ,nto target on thanksgiving where they are promising a lot of deals for the folks who come by. one thing you may notice about the line, folks going into target, it is pretty calm. we noticed the same thing just an hour ago a few stores down at best buy. check out this video. it looks very similar in that it is calm as well at the best buy. it is almost like they have gotten his black friday thing down to a science. some people know right what they are going for and they also know where to go, and that seems to be how they do it. what one of the folks we interviewed had to say. >> we got here about 5:00. tom: what are you here for? >> 50 inch tv. tom: for y

michelle: what this energy -- whitefish energy has resumed power restoration in puerto rico as a d.c. chef helped people celebrate thanksgiving. they dished out more than 12,000 pounds of turkey across the island. jose andres says the chefs of puerto rico will serve their 4 millionth meal. this weekend nancy: volunteers in northeast turning out thousands of meals, delivered to those including cancer and hiv patients. this year they helped 3500 people. michelle:

michelle: police have identified the driver killed in this crash on the beltway as in alexandria man. he slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was pulled onto the shoulder. the truck driver was not hurt. . it is not clear what caused the crash nancy:
