obtained by the 7 on your side i-team's all hear from students are graduated, despite missing most of this cool year, to getting good grades quite rarely showing up. ballou high former school music teacher and union representative and recalled a story of one student. >> she came to me like the last day asking for a pocket so she could pass and i'd literally never seen the girl in my entire life, no idea who she was. the d.c. public schools chancellor said he only discovered the allegations tuesday night from abc 7 news. >> i want to know from any teacher in the district to feels they are being pressured to give students a grade they do not deserve, i want to know directly. >> at the end of the day, the situation that was going on was illegal, unethical. nathan: she

pressure came from how teachers were evaluated, a grading system called impact. a 4, atder to earcn n least 81% of your kids have to be passing class with a"d" or higher, injured job counts on it. the d.c. schools chancellor said that the school principal follow district policy and never pressured teachers to give undeserved grades. michelle: today mayor muriel bowser spoke, assuring parents that district officials are doing everything they can to fix the situation. mayor bowser: if we find things were wrong or mistakes were made or that we can make the policies more clear, that is what we will do. jonathan: parents and teachers have heard promises to fix d.c. public schools before with little or no results. tonight we are hearing from a former teacher from ballou high

surprised. anna-lysa gayle continues our team coverage tonight. anna-lysa? isa-lysa: morgan williams speaking out tonight she says it hopes of bringing about change. she became a teacher to help students succeed, but as a teacher here she said she felt these cool system failed to educate some of her students. >> i knew it was only a matter of time before it came out. anna-lysa: former physical education teacher and health teacher morgan williams said she is not surprised by the findings that found more than 26 units graduated with more -- 26 students graduated with more than 100 absences last year. >> it was a culture in the school of i may or may not come. anna-lysa: williams at ballou from 2015 until the spring of this year. at one point she said she was

staffers are defending president trump after he tweeted a series of anti-muslim videos this morning, originally posted by the leader of a british far right group. the white house press secretary said that president trump shared them to start the conversation about border security and immigration. at least one of the videos is fake according to officials. michelle: an unusual delivery making its way through the heart of d.c. we're talking thousands of dollars worth of meth sent through the mail. tim barber has the details. tim: while holiday shoppers are shifting -- shipping gifts, one person is accused of trying to send meth through the mail. >> that does not make any sense. tim: the person was arrested at this you can yet store on 18th street, in the heart of busy adams morgan. >> i can see why they would ship it there. tim: more than 1000 grams of meth were

accident, speeding, i'm in jail. tom: another man called and said he needed five grand for bail. went to husband and i the bank assuming this was true, very emotional. tom: after wiring the money, she spoke to a third person. they then asked for more money. she eventually called her grandson, even though the scammer said his phone had been taken away. >> he said i don't do we were talking about. i said somebody called and said you were in jail. he said, grandma, that was a scam. tom: she is working with the police and the bank to try to get her money back. she hopes this interview saves somebody else from doing this. >> i got caught up in the story and did not have time to think. as i started to think, stepping back, i realized there were a number of red flags. tom: montgomery county police

we stay cool throughout the day. we are still in the 40's by about 11 a.m. have the heavier jacket ready to go, a little closer to normal this time of year. will beugh temperatures almost 15 degrees cooler tomorrow, it is still above average. the average high this time of year is now 52 degrees. through thelouds day, and we get ready for the showers. notice we have sunshine pretty much all day long until the clouds move in. isolated showers near the blue ridge and shenandoah valley around 8:00. fast forward hours, the rain moving through. it is really hit and miss, very light showers. about 10:00, just as everybody is getting closer to bedtime, not news you for most of us. friday morning it is gone, sunshine takes over, and we have a pretty friday.
