one step closer to becoming a legislative victory for the trump administration. the senate worked into the early morning passing the legislation. president trump raising the outcome. looks atviera what is ahead and the push back the bill is getting across the country. reporter: president trump on a victory lap after the senate passed the tax reform. >> not since ronald reagan has anything come close. in newr: the president york city, well protesters speaking out in opposition to the bill they say is a boon for the wealthiest americans. >> the tax cuts and jobs act as amended has passed. reporter: senate negotiations went down to the wire. they passed the largest change to the tax code in 30 years, adding revisions to get key holdouts on boards. changes taxpayers can expect include the elimination of the

corporate tax rate from 35% to 20 5%, doubling standard inductions, but abolishing state and local income tax deductions. for americans making more than $100,000 per year, it could mean a big tax cut, but middle-class folks making less than $75,000 could pay more in the next decade. no democrats voted in favor. >> basically they voted against tax cuts. reporter: the senate and house must work to reconcile the two this thing tax bills. the president hopes to sign before christmas. kellye: a protest of the tax bill happening in the district. as republicans rejoice, democrats said that the middle class will suffer. stephen tschida has the reaction tonight. stephen: a victory for republicans, and historic package of tax cut supporters maintain will spur

if the bill becomes law, more than a trillion dollars will be added to the deficit over 10 years. the bill goes to the house next, which passed its own tax bill last month. republicans hoping to reconcile the two sway final version can be sent to the president for his signature before christmas. now a look outside, we have had clouds over the area. will it lead to showers? brian van de graaff joins us now with the answer. brian: outside right now, scattered clouds, a few more batches of clouds rolling in towards dawn. they will try to squeeze out a two, but the bulk of sunday looking good. the official high downtown today, 53 at reagan national, sitting at 49 degrees. overnight, the temperature slide back, 34 to 42 later tonight.

were on routine patrol last night when they came across a man with stab wounds to his upper body. the police and paramedics were unable to revive the man. they don't know how long he had been out here. he was identified as 47-year-old luis ernesto bonilla. the police are investigating but need information to solve the case. if you have information, call the police. kellye: the search for a shooter in southeast d.c. the police say that a woman was shot in the head on 15th street. officers do not know who pulled the trigger but are asking the public for information. new information in the murder of ashanti billie. medical examiners released the cause of death of the 19-year-old prince george's county woman. autopsy reports we porting that billie suffered from unspecified trauma. they say when they got her body, it was partially skeleton iced.
