adrianna: the i-66 tolls are live. .t was a smooth commute but some people paid up to $34 for a one way trip. suzanne kennedy has reactions from drivers on this first day of an era on 66. suzanne: we have seen tolls as high as $34 to travel this nine mile stretch of roadway that is now impacted by the new rules. the new

the latest defense of flynn comes after a saturday tweet from the president's account, cleaning he fired flynn because he lied to the vp and the fbi. that is new, and critics charged it was an admission the president knew flynn line to the fbi before he allegedly asked comey to go easy on flynn. the president's lawyer, john dowd, later claiming he was the one who wrote the tweet, but sunday, more tweets, including, "i never asked comey to stop investigating flynn." now, the same trump lawyer saying the president cannot be guilty of obstruction of justice in his role, because he is the chief law enforcement officer of the united states. like i think if there is an obstruction case to be made, it is going to be a puzzle. the comey firing is going to be one piece of it. serena: a piece of the puzzle that is far from complete. democrats say this is the beginning of an obstruction of justice case. there is an agreement to work with the special counsel as a sign this is far from over. abc news, washington.

president trump was up early and tweeting, and one showed support for alabama senate candidate roy moore, who has been accused of sexual misconduct. there is an x the nation on why she -- why he is pushing for more. reporter: twice elected and twice to root for ethical violations by the alabama supreme court, and now these recent allegations of sexual misconduct. but republican roy moore said he will fight on, and it appears to be working. according to a recent poll, the republican is still winning, and president donald trump tweeting this morning in his support, saying this is why roy moore is the right man for the job. take a look at your screen. democrat refusal to give even one vote for massive tax cuts is why we need republican roy moore to win alabama. we need his boat on stopping crime, illegal immigration, border wall, pro-life, v.a.,

doubts on the authenticity of the tape, and told at least one senator he did not believe the voice was his. bush confirmed to "the new york times" that it was trump. a good candidate for the virginia house of delegates has filed for a recount. joshua poll ran in the 20th district, which includes fredericksburg and parts of stafford county. he lost to republican bob thomas by 82 votes. now, he says voters were given the wrong ballots, and that may have cost him the election. lose, thatwe win or is not the issue. the problem is making sure votes are counted, that voices are heard. adrianna: the campaign also filed a restraining order to keep the state board of elections from certifying the race until the issue was resolved. but the race was certified anyway. hold, current results republicans would have a 51-49 advantage in the chamber. what is next for the gop tax form plan?

bars on abduction charges. >> i am glad to have my daughter back where i know i can protect her and keep her safe, as a father always wants to do. lastnna: she disappeared sunday after erasing her phone and climbing out her bedroom window. she and rodriguez had not been seen since last monday. on friday, more than a thousand miles away from her hometown, police captured them during a traffic stop. now to a developing story out of north carolina. the man charged in the death of a three-year-old appeared in court. police arrested her mother's earlyend, a 32-year-old, friday, in connection to her disappearance. police found her remains in a creek saturday afternoon. his bond is now set at $1.1 million. a motive in this killing is still under investigation. and now to the latest in the ongoing case against michael slater, the police

pled guilty to federal civil rights charges in the shooting death of walter scott. that case caused national outrage when video showed a white police officer shooting a black man in the back as he ran away. maggie rulli has the latest. sentencing against today for the police officer in this video. the footage still tough to watch, more than the year later. slager seen shooting walter scott five times in the back as he was running away. >> we need police officers, but we need good police officers. we need for them to respect us as people. and what we saw on that video was not being respected. my brother was violated. was tried for murder last year, testify he believed scott was a threat. the jury deadlocked. the state struck a plea deal with slager,

dropping murder charges in exchange for him pleading guilty to federal civil rights charges. >> he has admitted in open court to using excessive force when he shot walter scott in the back five times, as he ran from a car stopped. unjust copsat the will not be tolerated anymore. maggie: the scott family reached a $6.5 million settlement with the city of charleston. sentencing could last several days, and those close to the case say which should -- say it manyd turn into a full trial. the prosecution is seeking life in prison. maggie rulli, new york. adrianna: an amazing site last night, the first and only superman of the year. nasa photographer bill ingalls captured the photog -- capture these photographs. superman's happen when a full moon aligns with the

. the wind gusts, as we move toward midafternoon hours and into the early evening -- wind gusts upward of 20 mph as the cold front advances in from the north and west. highs willw, eventually make it to the upper 50's. some of you might see close to 60 degrees. gravity umbrella for the day tomorrow, later afternoon into the evening hours. that is when the cold front begins to pick up steam as it moves our way. this is what it looks like. notice the time right over here. p.m. hour the 3:00 tomorrow. the heaviest rain to the west of us, but the cold front does not arrive here or across the immediate metro area until later tomorrow night. once that does happen, the colder air begins to funneling from the north and west. it is going to take a day or two before the core of really cold air gets there, and by friday, you are going to be saying to yourself, winter has finally arrived. here is

adrianna: back with a revolution in the diet game. officials for weight watchers say it is now more active than ever, after making changes to its smart points system. adrian maggart has all the details. reporter: weight watchers is blowing it up again. oprah announced she has lost 40 pounds on the popular meal plan, and she is raving about the new program, called freestyle, saying, when i first heard about it, i thought it was too good to be true. the fish, beans, and corn and corn in my favorite tacos are now zero points. weight watchers assigns values to food, and you lose weight by limiting the number you consume. with the freestyle program, weight watchers is taking fo

way tomorrow. we are tracking that tomorrow. the chances for rain. how cold will it get by the end of the weekend into the upcoming week? the answers coming up. teenager a florida back with her parents after being on the run for days with her soccer coach. today, her coach appeared in court on abduction charges. linzie janis is digging into the relationship between the two. linzie: the 17-year-old is back home in florida, reunited with her family after going missing with a soccer coach from her high school. >> we are just thrilled to death to be together again. 27-year-old ryan rodriguez now behind bars, awaiting charges. new details emerge about the lead up to the pair's disappearance. according to a police affidavit, friends of the teenager said she told them she hooked up with rodriguez and he wanted her to leave the coun

>> you are watching abc 7 news at noon. adrianna: back with more details on the royal engagement. the world is anxiously awaiting for prince harry and meghan markle to tie the knot. we are learning more about how the engagement happen under wraps. here is amy roebuck. amy: we are learning more about how the newest royal couple kept their relationship undercover for so long. >> keeping harry and meghan's relationship over -- under wraps was a cloak and dagger operation. "suits" andjob on could not fly around as much as harry could. he would jump on a plane and fly to toronto. they are in a huge city where there is nowhere to go on a restaurant date. it was up to the friends of meghan to open their doors for places they could actually hang out.

[baby crying] reporter: for the first time any united states, -- in the united states, a woman has given birth with a uterus transplant. >> tears were in our eyes. >> it was beautiful to watch. reporter: the baby boy was delivered via c-section, after his mother, who was born without a uterus, received a transplant at baylor university medical center in dallas, part of baylor's clinical trial. she suffered from absolute infertility, a type of infertility affecting one in 500 womenwh

approximately one in every 4500 females in the u.s. are born without a uterus every year. >> it was very special to look in the eyes of the mother. she was told that when she was a teenager, that she would never experienced this moment. all of a sudden, you see this happening. you think of the meaning. therter: the little boy is ninth baby born in the world from a transmitted uterus, joining eight other babies successfully born in sweden. as part of the trial, there has completed a total of eight transplants, including the mother who just gave birth. while three have been unsuccessful, one woman is currently pregnant. the remaining women are in different stages of the process. >> the birth of this boy is giving hope to all of these females out there who have this tendency. it is truly amazing. adrianna: now to the massive deal that could shake up the health care industry. cv
