here is the futurecast. not much going on in our area. tonight, talking about tomorrow night into saturday, at the bottom of your screen, this low pressure cell will be riding up the eastern seaboard. as we get into the night tomorrow and early tomorrow morning, it is offshore. but the blue on the map is where the radar is picking up the possibility of snow. is the wintry mix and green's reign. we will be close to the line. if the low pressure cell decides to bring itself in by even as little as 40 or 50 miles, which is a very minute amount, it will make a big difference to what we see at the surface. most models keep it offshore. now,e seeing a taste right and the further sum of these do our, the better -- the further southeast you are, the better chance of seeing

governor says he hasn't decided who will replace franken. that person will fill the seat until a special election next november. backlash over i-66 tolls. morning tolls topped out at $40, sparking outrage among drivers and lawmakers. sam sweeney is live in arlington, where a few hours ago, a group was demanding change. : a lot of people across virginia are talking about this. this afternoon, more than 50 state senators and delegates caused for a -- called for a suspension of the tolls. the toll rates now to the beltway is at $9.50. that changes every six minutes. the delegates and senators say they were misled during the planning stages. they want the tolls gone and the original hov hours brought back to where they were

week and they want hybrid vehicles back on the roads during rush hour. they say you can't start charging for a road you haven't improved yet. >> you can't start charging people for lanes that were previously free. what we are calling for is to a neck the new lanes, make them happen. times.e the hov create new capacity inside and outside the beltway with new parking lots, and to what we can to go back to the original promise, which is to say we will only charge people for using eye-66 when i-66 is improved, not before. vdot calls this political rhetoric. they say the program is working as they planned. over the next couple days, they say prices will iron out and they will decrease. they promised the tolls would cap at $17. right now, the average is $14, but the averag f

we will see what happens. so far, no word from aubrey laid -- aubrey, the secretary of transportation. metro's union members are protesting a plan to privatize some metro bus lines. they demonstrated outside the facility where the buses would be based. they prevented some of officials from entering the facility. the union says privatization would pose threats to jobs and safety, and they haven't worked at -- rolled out a work stoppage. metro hasn't spotted to requests for comments. jonathan: tomorrow marks one year since mgm national harbor opened. what kind of economic impact has it had on the community? rad was there for the opening and he is back there live tonight to break down the numbers. rad: it has had a big impact. last year, i stood in this spo

the big concern was that there would be traffic gridlock. tonight, you can see the cars are flowing smoothly and so is the cash. mgm national harbor has been open for one year and it has become the most important economic engine in prince .eorge's county >> they are our largest taxpayer and the county. we are excited they are here. they are hiring for thousand jobs. brad: the county budget director says he expects $32 million in county revenue from mgm. mgm has contributed nearly $160 million to the state education trust fund in 2017. there are those who remain skeptical about how the money is spent. >> i have not seen, not one iota, the schools. we get no services down here. ial

michelle: a tennessee family got a fiery surprise overnight when their christmas lights went up in flames. security cameras rolled as the fires spread to the house. the flames set off a smoke detector and everyone inside made it out safely. the lights are new, which would seem to rule out faulty wiring. the family kept the lights on around-the-clock, which could have caused them to overheat. always turn off your lights inside and out when you go to bed. a warning tonight for anyone who uses an atm. criminals are using an undetectable skimmer. you can't tell. richard explains how it works and how you can ot

we are talking about big changes coming up in our overall forecast. here is what we are looking at. clouds around the area, a few breaks, a nice evening but as we trackings out, we are an area of low pressure. this will potentially make big differences in our forecast. this one over here is way out of our area, and the aerials -- the arrows are the tracking will take. a huge majority of the energy should stay offshore out of our area, but we will watch overnight on friday into saturday, some of that working into our region. we will keep track of that late friday. that is the big question lots of people asked me. are we getting snow friday night into saturday? that is absolutely possible. i don't see it is a big snow maker, but it is enough that we get the first taste of winter overall.
