down to the south. the low pressure is still positioned well down near the gulf. the forecast track brings it across the deep south, off the eastern seaboard, off the coast of north carolina and the outer banks, then the east of our area. what we are watching closely is the outer west band. if this fluctuates a bit come it could alter things. this is primarily saturday, d.c. metro come in this swath that extends from the southwest to the northeast. there is a possibility of up to an inch of snow. some areas further south, one to two inches. not a major snow maker, but the first snow of the season. we will break down the timing and the winter blast of cold air coming this way. we will talk about that coming up. bill, thank you. stay connected and have the weather at your figure tips

lincoln memorial, hundreds sending a message. >> he was everything, to so many people. tom: members of his family and others spoke about the 25-year-old man they lost. he lived in mclean and was a graduate of langley high school. >> you will always follow me. shot and killed by u.s. park police after a chase. his vehicle landed on its side in the alexandria parco fairfax county. ofin the alexandria part fairfax county. his family said he was shot in the head three times despite being unarmed. he died 10 days later. park police never said why they shot him and the fbi is now investigating. >> he did not deserve to be treated that way. tom:

county's police chief said although the officers were not involved in the shooting, they were in the chase and one of his squad cars called the shooting on camera. he urged for the video of that to be released as soon as the fbi is done interviewing the officers involved. live outside the lincoln memorial, tom roussey, abc 7 news. nancy: we are tracking the latest on the california wildfires, of which six are burning at this hour. new fires breaking out tonight in san diego county. the largest of the fires has scorched 180 square miles in ventura county. homes and buildings have burned in that one fire alone as the people evacuated under mandatory orders. >> these are our memories. we have been together since i was 19. nancy:

contained. forecasters do not predict any rain until at least after christmas. nancy chen, abc 7 news. alison: nancy, thank you. the police in new mexico are trying to figure out what caused a shooting rampage at a high school. a student showed up at the school and just started shooting. two students were shot and killed. the school went on lock down, the shooter is dead, but it's not clear whether he took his life or the police killed him. jonathan: we're learning what led to the resignation of an arizona congressman. this announcement comes on the heel of the house ethics committee investigation into possible sexual harassment on his part. in a statement, al franken said a conversationm about surrogacy. alison: the news about franks coming just hours after senator al franken

resignation, but not before delivering a parting shot to republicans. >> there is some irony in the fact that i am leaving, while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of sexual assault sits in the oval office, and a man who has repeatedly preyed on young girls campaigns for the senate. alison: the growing number of sexual harassment complaints on capitol hill has many calling for changes from within. anna-lysa gayle live on capitol hill with more. anna-lysa? senator alalison, franken's resignation to not come as a surprise to many. they said his resignation signals somewhat of a win for the women who accused him of sexual misconduct. >> in the coming weeks, i will be resigning as a member of the unit

anna-lysa: this attorney who for only helps women with problems in the workplace said senator al franken's resignation was the right thing to do following several sexual misconduct allegations. >> where there is smoke, there is fire, so i think it is appropriate. it shows you cannot get away with this behavior. anna-lysa: he says it aches extremely difficult for women to report sexual misconduct. >> for woman to report sexual sheonduct in congress come has to take the allegation within congress itself. there is a 30-day cooling off period. anna-lysa: franken's resignation came after senator mccain sent a letter requesting information on a number of sexual harassment claims filed against senators and the settlements that were reached. >> these have been swept under the rug all these years and he is trying to shine the spotlight on it right now and i think it is the right place to start. anna-lysa:

response, senator tim kaine says he plans on revealing the findings on a number of sexual harassment claims filed against senators. he says he is doing so in the public's interest in order to be transparent. anna-lysa gayle, abc 7 news. alison: the question now, what happens next? resignation is official, minnesota's democratic governor will name a replacement. that person will serve until a special election next november. whoever wins that election will then serve until 2020, when's franken's seat comes up and then they could run for a full six-year term. jonathan: there will be no government shutdown for now. the house and senate moved late this afternoon to pass a temporary funding bill to keep the government up and running. the catch is it only goes for two weeks. they have to come to an agreement on a long-term spending bill before december 22

alison: happening now, the search for a vintage vespa, stolen from an iconic arlington shot. it was parked right outside of the italian store in west over and it was swiped. but the shop's owners in the police are hoping this video will help them finally catch the thief. tim: it has been's five days since the italian store iconic vespa vanished. since then, tips have been pouring in. >> people want to help us in any way. it is a great feeling. tremonte, it was not just a staple of the popular arlington business, it was part of his childhood. mike's father, the owner, took mike on rides when he was a little boy and taught him to drive the vespa. saturday at about 5 p.m., two people stole the

new developments and a former doctor for the u.s. gymnastics team will spend 60 years in prison on child pornography charges. it is the first of three sentences for larry nassar, who also admitted to sexually abusing at least 10 girls under his care, and total more than 140 women and girls accused him of abusing members, including members of the 2012 olympic team. alison: remember the symbolic one dollar settlement that taylor swift asked for from a dj who she accused of groping her. he has now paid up. she wanted to raise awareness. now stephen mueller said he paid the settlement with a one dollar sacajawea coin, saying he thinks it should raise awareness about native american women. jonathan: a former police officer from south carolina will spend 20 years behind bars for the shooting death of an unarmed black man. this case involved michael slater.

slater opens fire on walter scott as he was running away. he is running away, unarmed, and slater opened fire, killing him. slater's attorney still maintains his client fired in self-defense and race to not play a role. alison: new development in the almost decade-long search for pamela butler. tomorrow the police will search an area of stafford county, and that searches based on the confession of her then-boyfriend , who says that is where he buried her body nine years ago. now we are hearing from her family about the possibility of bringing their loved one home. >> so we can go one with our lives and do what we have to do to pay her respect. alison: jose rodriguez-cruz pled guilty in butler's murder and couple months ago after saying they got into an argument. he is serving a 12 year sentence. the search for remains is prompting a traffic watch tomorrow. virginia state police say access to the

ouch. the crash near philadelphia calls to nearly 10 hours of backups. nobody was hurt, but sadly some bottles of votto were lost. alison: tomorrow marks one year since the grand opening of the mgm casino at national harbor. the casino has become the most important economic force in prince george's county. the county says it has created some 4000 jobs and is the county's largest taxpayer, providing $32 million in revenue. they have also added nearly $160 million to the state education trust fund. county residents have mixed opinions. >> we get no services down here. >> it has already helped a lot of people. alison: over the past year, 6 million people have visited in g.m. national harbor. jonathan:

going into the day tomorrow, we should be fine, clouds, generally cloudy day, chile, but a dry day. no problems friday evening, even into late evening. mostly this is saturday. by saturday we are still cloudy. mid morning we start to watch the moisture creep in. the majority should stay east and southeast of the area. we are watching some of that work back into the metro area, so as we get into the day saturday, we easily could see our first flakes of the season. i don't see this as a big snow maker. of course we are watching the updated model each time. we are generally going up to about an inch on the grassy areas, cars parked in the shade, about one to two to the southeast, but that is saturday. 42 the4 today, tomorrow high.
