that two to four-inch range around the d.c. metro. ,here should be some spots especially in st. mary's county, where we see half an inch of snow, not on the road necessarily, but into some of the officially measured areas. feedeted out a live video down around leonardtown. you can see the snow is accumulating in that area. there's a lot more to come down to our south and west, widespread areas where we have winter weather advisories. that extends way down to the south, places that normally don't see it. tonight, we should be fine around the metro area. most of that snow should stay well to the south. overnight, that is when the snow starts to creep up.

there is your winter scene. of thee early part afternoon, that is where the bulk of this should push through our area. it's not a long snow event or event, generally speaking, but it is the first one, and any bit of snow could cause you problems. within the beltway, i think we are going to stay above freezing. it's going to be a chilly week. take the snow aside. 37, 39 when our normal highs were 39, 49. bit likeeel every midwinter, mid-january, and another front coming through tuesday. a little rebound later in the forecast. we will watch tonight and tomorrow. >> if you see snow in your area, we want to see it, too.

toyota dealers. scott: it was supposed to be a big day for high school football in norfolk. mother nature had other ideas. the virginia high school football state championships have been postponed to sunday, the norfolk area expecting 4-6 inches of snow. name betweene tuscarora and highland springs will kickoff sunday at noon. west field will play oscar smith in the championship game that will start sunday at 4:30. the cats return to the new york ice tonight. the boys in red will be getting a little boost. andre burakovsky is back in the lineup after missing 20 games with a broken thumb. his teammates are excited to have him back on the ice. he's got great speed and has shown how dynamic he can be. he's fun to have around. he's like a little brother. it will be good to see him back out there. scott
