officials say 27-year-old akayed ullah intentionally detonated a homemade pipe bomb. strapped to his body using velcro and zip ties. >> the male was wearing improvised low-tech explosive device. >> three people were treated at the hospital for minor injuries. authorities say ullah is treated for the lacerations and burns to his hands and stomachs. law enforcement source says ullah told investigators he was motivated by the recent events in gaza. he was a taxi driver living brooklyn and it is unclear if the suspect is linked to terror organization like isis or was perhaps inspired by one. a person living in new york. was disgruntled. apparently went to the intern

the -- it happened a few blocks from the u.s. capital. brianne carter has more on what police are saying. brianne: the police are not confirming if the man was a driver for a for-hire company. authorities say it was in this area that the car was driving when the man pulled over and attacked the woman. according to police the woman believed she was getting a ride from a for-hire driver. the driver pulled the car over. the man grabbed her and attempted to reach down her pants. the woman tells police she began screaming inside the car the man strangled and punched her several times. >> this is a horrible thing to have happen. i hope people definitely pay a lot of attention to

they are looking into the possibility that there was a party and he may have been running from police but it's not known for sure. all day the young people are coming here to the place yesterday the police found the body of their friend. 17-year-old navid sepehri. they bring flowers and try to remember the high school senior they called "nav." they all declined to speak out of respect for the family. the principal sent a letter home asking those who knew the teen to celebrate his love of art and commitment to others.

alison: two sub chron tackers were working on scaffolding when it collapse and the other worker is treated for a leg injury. their names have not been revealed. nancy: quite the scene. outdoor christmas decorations, torn apart, crushed and scattered down the street. electric wiring broken. alison: this happened in two takoma park neighborhoods minutes apart. richard reeve is live at takoma park with the latest today. any leads at this point? richard: yeah. police don't have too many leads. look at this. this is most of the damage along grant avenue in front of this house here in takoma park. most cleaned up. but the ornaments were crushed earlier and up and down the street. this wasn't the only neighborhood

>> someone began tossing the decorations down the street and egging at least one house. ten minutes before, police tell us decorative lights were pulled down and electrical cords for cut. young people were involved is the suspicious but no one knows for sure. they came home to find the neighbor's yard a mess. >> it was ripped apart. all the electrical wiring was broken. we found pieces down the road. there were footprints in the snow everywhere. richard: neighbors tell us there have been vandalisms and the break-ins in the cars in recent years but certainly nothing like this. coming

weekend was above normal. or outside the normal. show you for the record. we had no snowfall out there today. we picked up two inches for the month at reagan. record for the day. and the last time we had a snow fall greater than that, earlier in the season was in 2007. we had 2.6 inches of snow. it's been ten years since we had this much snow. it's not a ton. but since we had this much snow this early. for the season, we are above almost an inch ahead of schedule looking at the overall numbers. no snow tonight. 45 at 5:00. 43 by 6:00. low 40's by the time we get to the 7:00 time frame. 30's now for the luray up to winchester. hagerstown at 43.

the number is chilly. it's december but it's not way down. not the mid-20's or anything like that. if you go out tomorrow early a great majority will be at or above freezing. notice the snow over the mountains. in the daytime. so we get in the afternoon. this time tomorrow night you will start to notice a huge difference. especially if you account for the winds that are blustery. if you go out tonight, light jacket you are fine. tomorrow at this time you will be starting to new york on the door of the freezing mark. certainly talking about the wind chill factor. a big difference. a few clouds in the morning around 4
