tim: people are riding back-and-forth on metro when bullets start flying north of the tracks. ,nvestigators are on the scene metro transit officers. the investigators on the platform investigating this. we know one person was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a man who was shot heard the investigators are still trying to find the person who pulled the trigger. they're looking for two persons of interest. not suspects, persons of interest. one is wearing a gray hoodie with possibly tattered jeans, the other a dark jacket. the detectives want to talk to these two people. as soon as we get more information about what happened tonight, we will let you know, or right now the orange line is single tracking to get around this as the investigation continues.

this bethesda neighborhood following the unlikely disappearance and death of classmate and friend navid sepehri. woods near the memorial, authorities found the body of the 17-year-old walt whitman senior sunday. his school principal said initial information indicates the death was accidental. the police are trying to figure out exactly what happened saturday night. that is when they were called to this house, about a mile from where sepehri's body was discovered. >> the caller is anonymous and there is an underaged drinking party at this address, loud, bonfire in the background. jay: one possible scenario is that sepehri trying to walk home fell and died from exposure. he was about two miles away. at this point, the authorities are still investigating the cause of the young man's death. jay korff, abc 7 news.

for firefighters battling relentless wildfires. the thomas fire has jumped fire lines, growing by nearly 60,000 acres in just one day. this is now the fifth the largest wildfire in california history, scorching more than 350 square miles in a week. they are also working to get animals inside and away from the dangerous look. animals,re we can fit we have done it and we are hoping to get help soon. nancy: the ash is coming down like snow. an additional 2000 firefighters have been called in to battle the blaze. alison: chaos during a busy morning commute in new york city. an explosion in the middle of a pedestrian tunnel. it was in the city's subway system, just blocks from crowded times square. tonight, the police say it was an act of terror.

latest from the live desk. michelle: we are learning more about what may have inspired the attacker in this incident in new york city. the authorities are talking to 27-year-old akayed ullah, trying to figure out the specifics of his planned that he says was inspired by isis. the explosion was caught on camera, happening during the morning rush at a major transit hub. bomb would off, but his suicide belt failed to detonate. this happened just blocks from times square. isis recently posted this image to a propaganda website, showing an isis fighter dressed as santa with dynamite in times square. >> this was an attempted terrorist attack. thank god the perpetrator did not achieve his ultimate goals. has been living in the u.s. seven years now come originally from bangladesh.

called the police. even the police officer said he had never seen that before. but i have found out recently sometimes it has happened in the neighborhood in the last year. the car's owner believes the thieves needed the doors for another car. insurance is paying for the damage. they are also going to purchase security cameras for the home. alison: 7 on your side with a crime alert after a woman said she was attacked by a man she thought was a driver for hire. it happened about 4 a.m. yesterday. the driver pulled the car over and attacked the woman come even strangling and punching her when she screamed for help. the police are not saying if the man worked as a driver or if the woman used an app to call for the ride. university of maryland police are looking for somebody peeping on students in a bathroom. friday night, he student at hagerstown hall said somebody with a phone was peering over the bathroom stall.
