a "beer rage" incident. the violent theft happened inside a liquor store in santa ana, california. a man brought a 12-pack of corona to the clerk. but when the clerk asked for money, the man tried to steal the beer. the two men got into a tug of war. that's when the suspect began throwing cans of beer at the clerk. the clerk told another customer to call 9-1-1, then ran after the suspect. the man got away, but police now have video and photos of him. they're asking the public to help find him. the clerk is recovering from minor injuries. new developments in southern california... and those wildfires burning near los angeles. investigators say -- the fire that destroyed homes in bel air... was sparked by a cooking fire at a homeless camp.

those flames destroyed 6 homes and damaged a dozen more last week. it's still burning right now but is said to be about 85-percent contained. this is one of several fires buring in southern california, driven by strong winds. he's referring to the city of carpinteria - and other communities along the coast - impacted by the "thomas fire". it's the fifth largest wildfire in the state's history -- having charred an area larger than new york city. the first responders who helped save lives during the alexandria ballpark shooting are being honored for their bravery. the alexandria city council paid tribute to them during a ceremony last night. and it honored the six agencies that helped on that chaotic june morning. the shooter who opened fire on the
