>> in this race, we have not received the final count to include military and provisional ballots. this has been a very close race, and we are awaiting verification by the secretary of state. this particular race was watched not only by the people of this state but by the entire nation and many around the world. >> election officials in alabama say there's no reason to question the results. they're expected to be certified by the end of the month. and minnesota's lieutenant governor is set to replace al franken once he steps down. tina smith says she will also run in november to complete the two years remaining on franken's term. he announced his resignation a week ago. he praised smith calling her a dedicated public servant. a kentucky state lawmaker accused of sexually assaulting a teenaged girl has apparently taken his own life. the body of dan johnson was discovered hours ago with a single gunshot wound to the head.

the county coroner says johnson, a church pastor was found near a bridge in a secluded area. earlier this week, a woman said johnson sexually assaulted her in the basement of his home in 2013 when she was only 17 years old. he denied the allegations during a news conference from the pulpits of his church on tuesday. >> this allegation concerning this lady, this young girl absolutely has no merit, there is no, in fact some of this i heard yesterday for the first time. as i read this story. >> hours before his death he posted a facebook message asking people to take care of his wife. he wrote that ptsd is a sickness that will take his life and heaven is now his home. so the epa administrator, pruitt has questions to answer

office. they will look into whether he used any of the money that was supposed to be used for the privacy booth. the agency has said he needs the secure line to communicate with the president. the investigation of the booth was prompted by a request from congressional democrats. a botched landing at the world's busiest airport is under investigation. a delta jet nearly touched down on an occupied taxiway in atlanta. it initially lined up and it did come in safely. and a jetblue flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a traveler allegedly bit other passengers. the flight was headed to los angeles from new york when the man reportedly started biting passengers traveling with him then allegedly kicked and punched other people on the flight. the plane landed in las vegas, and the man was removed. it's not clear what caused the outburst.
