that was their target. we see the crazy video all the time of using chains and the trucks to yank open or steal a.t.m.'s. they don't have much success. so these guys waited until the money machine was open. >> the masked gunman ran in after they opened for loading. bad guys had rifles and the couriers had handguns. in a matter of seconds the thieves raced away with what the sources say is nearly for 250,000 in cash. >> this is obviously a brazen robbery in the middle of the day. this because was open for business. we haven't seen this case in a long time. brad: it was well planned. the thieves were heavily armed. knew what they wanted and where to get it. they avoided a pursuit by almost immediately ditching the van they arrived in a block away and apparently getti

getaway vehicle. police call it an unusual crime. >> it doesn't fit the pattern we are looking at. >> the bandits remain on the loose. i want to show you something. this is where the crime happened. i want to show you the getaway van they ditched was ditched here by this shopping center. basically across the street. they had done planning and apparently prepositioned another getaway car. in beltsville, brad bell, abc7 news. michelle: caught on video, a dangerous police chase through the west baltimore. this driver led them on a half-hour winding chase and was shooting at people as he raced the wrong way down the roadways. two people were shot. just as it looks like the police are moving in. someone sprints across the street and pulled the driver from the car. that is not a cop.

in addition, sepehri's body located in a woodbridge creek bed sunday afternoon. that explains the drowning component here. the m.e. office in baltimore took two blood samples. one from sepehri's heart and another from a major artery. per the test results the 17-year-old heart blood had a b.a.c. of .15. and in the artery b.a.c. of .21. we spoke to the father this afternoon and telling me that the family is aware of the cause of death and asked for privacy. this week they called on the f.b.i. and the congress to preview the case. we come back live and the memorial set up at the pool near where he was found. hypothermia and drowning are factors here. e

call the police. michelle: maryland mother accused of killing her baby remains behind bars. a judge refuse grant bond for rebecca briones. police say the rockville woman shook her 2-month-old and banged the baby's head against the bed. tonight prosecutors say she is seven month espregnant. they are worried about the unborn child's welfare. alison: the holidays are often difficult time for families who lost loved ones to violence. that is why volunteers and the group murder mistaken hosts a christmas party in an attempt to raise the spirits. two of the children were killed a week before christmas in 1993 and this event is a way to keep the memories alive and bring smiles to people's faces. >> we take in the children. they are the most at risk.

alison: what a sight in georgetown as the flames and the smoke bring early morning activity to the m street to a halt. the fire caused all kind of traffic problems as you can imagine. along m street in the morning rush. stephen tschida shows us what happened. >> flames and smoke burst from the old building in the heart of georgetown at 6:0

firefighters arrived in minutes but the fire already had consumed much of the interior. it's an awful fire. one firefighter suffered minor injuries and had to go to the hospital for treatment. the battle to contain it affected the buildings on either side. el centro a taco place had a it will of water damage. >> it's not a good time. we know more later. contractors on the way. take a look. windows open at the hardware store next door. the heavy smell of smoke permeates the air. >> we are lucky. no damage as we can see. the historic shop on the ground store took a hit and suffered damage. the worst of it is up there. on the second floor. nail salon. that is where they believe the fire started.

good evening. good evening, everyone. another look at 495. beltway. out near tysons. it's just moving remarkably slow tonight. what can you expect for the rest of the night for weather? it's cold. but the snow is gone completely out of our area. there is a focus around the metro. we widen it out. you have to get well east to see that snow. and the advisories for that matter. the winter weather advisories east of the chesapeake. mainly to new jersey. and the state of delaware right now. for us, hourly forecast. it's cold. we are looking at the temperatures hanging around the freezing mark. some thought cooler but not much. you go out and you are walking around and then you hit a sidewalk, maybe you are walking in a restaurant that doesn't have salt, it will refreeze and you slip and
