adrianna: happening right now, the amtrakadrianna: train that derailed in washington state earlier this week is being taken away from the scene. the investigation has revealed that speeding was involved in the crash of the train was going 80 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone, and possibly an engineer was distracted. of course, once we get more information, we will pass it along to you. adrianna: well, a police officer ridee wrong end of a wild in florida. a driver is speeding off, dragging the

after he reached inside his call -- car because he was responding to a report of a possible overdose. the officer loses his grip. he is rolling along the pavement. the driver then led the police on a 20 mile high-speed chase before he was caught and arrested. good news, though, the officer is expected to be ok. now to a sea turtle stuck in a bunch of cocaine. the u.s. coast guard coming to the rescue of this little guy in key west. that is the turtle surrounded by packs of cocaine. drug patrol,ay they found this here in the eastern pacific. officials say close to seven tons of cocaine and marijuana was found. the sea turtle was successfully freed. fallout from ast fraternity death. a grand jury has found enough evidence to support criminal charges in the death of a florida state fraternity

pledge who died after an alcohol-so party. eva pilgrim has this story. 20-year-oldim: andrew coffee was found dead inside of this house after an off-campus frat party this past november. his blood-alcohol, nearly seven times the legal limit to drive. court documents now revealing the only people at the party, two strippers, the pledges, and their new big brothers. according to those at the party, coffee passed out on a couch after drinking large amounts of liquor straight from the bottle. playedaimed as they pool, coffee fell asleep, snoring loudly, but when a pledge went to wake him, he did not have a pulse. phone records show the pledge called and texted five members before calling 911. >> unfortunate, they determined the person to be deceased. eva:

overnight, a grand jury found there is enough evidence to file criminal charges in the 20-year-old's death, but it has been impossible to complete investigation because the majority of the fraternity brothers are not cooperating. the case has been handed to the attorney general. >> we are trying to figure out how you convince these intelligent millennials that people are dying every year because of these behaviors? men at the party are refusing to speak to investigators. they are suspending the fraternity and, to make temporary ban at the campus. adrianna: six american university students face 120 counts each a fan of underaged tricking party was busted in bethesda. police say the alcohol content was so strong it actually registered on a breathalyzer. the six students are all members of the fraternity.

in fines. a california man and his family are alive today all thanks to their doorbell. take a look at this. video from the doorbell of mike hernandez trying to put out a fire that quickly engulfed his home. it was 3:30 sunday morning when bright flames triggered the motion detector on the doorbell which sent an alert to his phone. i open my eyes and looked to my right, and outside my bedroom window i saw what looked to be flames. adrianna: that's exactly what that was. his senate -- fiancee and brother -- they all made it out safely. a few weeks ago, christmas lights caught fire outside of a tennessee home. camera ise doorbell ister for finding out who dropping off packages, who is stealing packages, christmas lights catching fire.

early moment -- early morning vote in the senate. a vote laters today -- really more of a formality. it would appear president donald trump a congressional republicans are getting ready to celebrate their first significant victory in 2017 just days before the year ends. the vote came in around 1:00 this morning, and it is the first overhaul of the u.s. tax code in over 30 years. the bill passed along party lines -- 51-48 was the final count. senator jeff flake of arizona, the last undeclared republican, voted yes. there was plenty of criticism from the left side, claiming this bill uses the tax bill -- eases the tax bill on businesses rather than the middle class. mitch mcconnell: if we cannot sell this to the american people, we ought to g

people injured was for lorton -- was from lorton. victor: authorities confirming five americans among the one dozen killed on a bus crash. he was one of the tourists from two ships. he, along with 32 other cruise ship passengers were on an excursion to the mayan ruins, about one hour from where the ships docked on the yucatan peninsula. nobody told us. my wife's sister -- she sought. victor: local hospitals treating 18 more victims. -- from portland, oregon, was on an excursion to see the mayan ruins, but she was on a different bus.

what is the take away here? rick: automated postings can be true. about four in five americans will pay less taxes and foremost to pullwhat is the take away he? rick: it is a small number, and a lot of the tax cuts expire over the next 10 years. that is the way the bill is written. the corporate tax cut is cut eminently, and the biggest winners are the people that pay the most taxes, the rich. they get the biggest benefits. other things are phased out that affect taxpayers like donald trump. the white house contends the president himself is not benefiting personally, but they have no evidence to back that up. rick: we have also -- adrianna: we have also heard jobs -- when do we feel the effect of that bill in that regard? rick: it is a good question. the bill goes into effect a couple of weeks. people will start to feel it in their paychecks in february or march. it affects the whole tax year of 2018 when you file in 2019. a lot of people, including companies,

decisions based on this. the idea is you feel the effects pretty quickly. we will find out if companies are reinvesting versus holding on to more cash, buying back more of their own stock -- are they growing wages, jobs? this bill will not be judged i pulling them is, but by the strength of the economy over the next year. adrianna: republicans -- this is a huge win for them. they did sneak in the obamacare image will mandate -- individual mandate repeal, and open the national wildlife refuge in alaska to drilling. the president says this is a repeal of obamacare and a huge victory. where the democrats go from this? well, he is not right about this being a repeal of obamacare. he is right about repealing the individual mended, which is a big piece, but the individual exchanges are still there. democrats need to regroup, figure out where they stand.
