mr. trump last went to walter reed in april when he visited wounded service members. under heavy security, vice president pence made surprise visit to the u.s. troops this afghanistan. his first visit to afghanistan. trump has not been there yet. pence met with the afghanistan president and the u.s. troops as well as the military leaders. larry: wednesday is the day virginia will break the tie between two state delegate candidates fighting to represent the newport news area. we now know that shelly simonds and david yancey names will be written on separate pieces of paper and placed in separate film canisters and put in a container that will be shaken. a canister will be drawn to determine a winner after a recount and a ballot challenge declared the race a tie. kimberly: hagerstown woman suing the national rifle association. she says her husband was swindled by the n.r.a. foundation attorneys into giving up his $500,000 in life savings.

not the other way around. ruling could come anytime in the next few weeks. larry: jury acquitted the first six defendants charged in connection with the violent protests on inauguration day. the defense attorneys say they were peacefully protesting and unfairly swept up when they cracked down on the rioters. it's unclear what it means for those waiting trial, the prosecutors suggest that the cases would continue. also today, two guilty pleas to this brawl outside the turkish embassy. both have been in jail since the arrest in june. the brawl started when two groups of the protesters clashed over the turkish president visit. kimberly: a former substitute teacher and basketball coach indicted on charges of child pornography and abuse.

larry: you're watching "abc7 news at 6:00". on your side. police in australia say the driver of a car that plowed in several pedestrians does not have terrorist ties but they do say it's a deliberate act. 19 people injured. the bystanders dragged the man out of the car and held him until the police arrested him. they also arrested a man taking the cell phone video who had three knives in the bag. kimberly: fairfax county police officer expected to make a full recovery after he was hit by a car. this happened on route 28 near i-66. the officer was responding to an accident and was directing traffic when he was hit. all three officers involved in the accident were also hurt. all are expected to survive. the driver is coopeat
