- welcome back to new day cleveland. we are on the road, and we are in green, ohio, which is just down the street from akron-canton airport. and do you know what's right behind? a little gem of a place called the twisted olive. (upbeat music) - well, the twisted olive is part of gervasi vineyards, and one of the things that we have really done over time is we're really in the experience business, we say. food and wine is certainly at the core of what we do, but we want people to have a memorable experience. so we really wanted the twisted olive to have its unique experience. it would be something at the gervasi standard but stand on its own. so it's more casual. it has a really large restaurant, so we wanted it to be more casual, more family friendly. what was really unique about the house besides the amazing setting was it had a lot of really cool features to it.
10:46 am
it's a walk out basement, so it has a lot of glass on the back of the building with great views. so we really just looked at each room and said, "what could we retain within each room that would work "in a restaurant environment and be beautiful?" because we're in a park, people could come from the baseball field in their uniform and hang out on the beautiful outdoor deck or one of the casual dining areas and enjoy a meal, or if you're entertaining out of town guests or celebrating a special occasion, it works for that, too. it's very versatile. - today, we're gonna put together one of our napoli pizzas here at the twisted olive. we take one of our house rolled doughs. we coat 'em with a little bit of olive oil. there's a mozzarella blend that goes down as a base, fresh sliced roma tomatoes. and we have a fresh mozzarella cheese that goes on top. that's gonna go in for about six, seven minutes in our oven that we have over here. - well, we got some of our signature items here. first, we have our pizza.
10:47 am
we have a whole series of other pizzas as well, which are fantastic, very rustic. over here we have our meatballs. we have a special section on the menu with pork. this is the beef. we also have pork and chicken meatballs and a vegetarian option. bellini meanie, one of our favorite cocktails. and this is one of our signature entrees. this is the twisted cowboy. it's a big ribeye with really hot peppers, a chimichurri sauce, fresh vegetables. we also have other steaks and seafood. and then over here, we've got our bloody mary experience. one of the things that's unique about our restaurant of course, our gervasi signature wines. and you gotta finish with dessert. we have our individual cake board. you can buy individual cakes or the entire board with four different flavors. we do feature all the gervasi wines and just our wines here on the property, so we still, that's very much an important part of what we offer. but, we also wanted to, again, have this be a different experience than gervasi, what we offer we also want to have this be a different
