the kind of inspection that might detect small cracks, maybe something cat traffic. >> reporter: a lawyer and aviation expert says this appears to be a stress fatigue in the plane's aluminum skin. the plane was in service since the 90s. >> the problem should never occur. >> reporter: he points to a seven and a half million dollar settlement between the faa and southwest earlier in the year for failing to inspect cracks. >> we were hoping they had learned theirs will son from previous failures. >> the plane landed safely and is taxing. >> everyone started clapping and the captain was treated like a super star. >> reporter: they failed to inspect some 50,000 flights for

cracks. southwest says this is the first time this has happened to one of its jets. the airline did not experience delays because of those inspections today. a dramatic police pursuit all caught on tape. county police helicopter along with sky eye chopperrer 19 followed a man on a motorcycle where speeds were reaching 100 miles per hour. he jumped off his bike and disappear intoed the neighbourhood. officers never found him. police are invest gating a mysterious disappearence and now a a death, a staffer found in the water near canton. kelly spoke with the last person who saw this man alive. =ly. >> reporter: we may never know how henedded up in the water near canton but now his body has been found, they are all mourning him and saying his
