session, but it was cut short when they became sick with the h1n1 virus flu. the health department confirms it, 11 cases found at this federal office building in downtown. the patients worked with the veteran's affair department. they were out of town guests attending a training session when some came down with flu- like symptoms. they were asked to stay in their hotel rooms, now it may have three more suspected cases. in a written statement to eyewitness new, the health commissioner wrote we continue to monitor these cases and the spread of h1n1 virus flu here in the city. the out break in maryland continues and involves generally mild symptoms similar to the ordinary flu. >> reporter: they are likety flu symptoms, chillses coughs,

muscle aches, contact your doctor or go to the health department. thank you, gigi. wash your hands often afternoon cover your mouth to avoid the spread of the h1n1 virus. the other big story, new developments in the corruption probe, charges once dropped against sheila dixon are back on the table. good afternoon, ron matz. >> reporter: good afternoon mayor dixon has been reindicted on perjury and misconduct charges that were previously dismissed from the case. the prosecutor is starting over throwing out the old indictment. the new indictment also includes a charge that the mayor stole gift cards meant for if poor. mary poor. >> my reaction, sheila, stay focused, continue to bill on

this and continue to serve the citizens. >> reporter: the state prosecutor says he now has the cooperate of the mayor's former boyfriend, ron lipscomb. he pled guilty to a campaign finance charge. it's not yet clear if the new indictment is base on his testimony. don, back to you. thank you very much. another attorney issued the statement calling the new charges flawed. stay with eyewitness news for coverage of the probe. for all developments and to read the indictment, go to wjz.com. the d.c. area metro system says one of its bus drivers is facing kidnapping charges. he's accuse of refusing allow a passenger to get off of the bus. it happened at the southern avenue station. the driver is 41-year-old michael robinson now on

administrative leave. drivers will notice some big changes along one of maryland's roadways. one lane closed on the westbound entrance to interstate 70 where two people died while watching an illegal street race. that and other changes will help prevent illegal street racing. memorial services held for two of the people killed in the helicopter crash on i-70 in washington county last week. the service for the 48-year-old scheduled for 2:00 today. the 24-year-old and 23-year-old also lost their lives in that crash. they continue to investigate. michael jackson's mother and ex-wife have reached an agreement over custody of his children. reporting for wjz that they

will live with kathrine jackson, but debby row will be able to see them. >> michael jackson will get his wish, kathrine, his mother, will raise his children. >> there's no situation better for these children than for them to be raised under the loving care of kathrine jackson. she has reached a deal with his former wife. row will get visitation with her children prince michael and paris but no cash. >> it's not about money. it's an agreement for the best interest of the children. >> reporter: the pop star's father will not have a role in raising the children even though the parents are still married, they live in separate states. he spoke out about his father's abusive behavior, but his mother will make sure the kids grow up in a loving environment.

>> she's still grieving but she's a strong woman. she's trying to stay strong for her grandchildren, all of they will, especially michael's children. >> reporter: the custody agreement expected to be finalized on monday. his estate estimated from 200 million to $2 billion is just beginning. >> as far a investigation into his death goes, there's reports that the toxicology reports are done, while the family has seen results, no timetable on when they will be released publicly. a tornado moved through western maryland yesterday afternoon. it pas passed through old town and allegheny county. two homes suffered damage but no injuries reported. the skies appear calm today as we look live outside.

the sun made a return but could our break from stormy weather be short lived? eyewitness news, tim is over in the first warning weather center for us. >> definitely, we have a gorgeous day right now, a lot of folks heading down to the orioles game. it's going to be a nice day. doppler showing clear conditions here, but we have some storms off to the south and southwest. they will stay there for today. tomorrow, we have humid flow of air coming in along the coast. it will bring warmer air, steamier air. the humidity levels go up and cut into that will be dryer air. that's the same dynamic where it starts to rotate and spin and during the heat of the afternoon, we could see some storms. how it plays into the forecast on your complete forecast. still to come on wjz news

a pregnant woman noun massachusetts with the baby cut out of her womb. the baby is in good condition. they arrested a 35-year-old homeless woman who tried to pass the baby off as her own. other people at a homeless center became suspicious. >> some friends became little concerned about how she got home so early after just giving birth. >> we have the baby, we wanted that child, this was the best- case scenario out of this tragedy, we have the child and it appears to be healthy. >> the body of the 23-year-old

was discovered monday by her land lord. the woman is held on $2 million bail. unsafe truck and bus operators are driving through several states incluing maryland. 500 companies ordered to shut down because of violations are operating just using different names. it ranges from suspected licenses to drug use. it comes from the government office. he is only 7 but a boy in utah showing some skill behind the wheel. police cam captures the child's travels after he took his dad's car to avoid going to church. the boy jumps out and runs away. he's too young to be prosecutorred, he told his father to find a better place to hide his keys. president obama offering a beer summit to put racial

controversy to rest. the president extended the invitation after he criticized sgt crowley for the arrest of gates. tonight the president hopes beer will help resolve the racially-charged dispute. >> the president will drink bud light, gates likes red stripe and sgt crowley likes blue moon. each man will drink his favorite beer at a picnic table near the oval office. the nation's lawmakers may get closer to a deal. they have made small progress agrees on a deal that cuts $100 billion from the bill. senators say they're closer to a bipartisan compromise.
