mysterious flames. seven people killed in a georgia mobile home. how did they die and who could be responsible? tonight the only person arrested is the one who called 911. good evening. i'm adam may. it is a chilling scene in georgia tonight. we have the very latest on this investigation. >> reporter: the scene inside this mobile home was shocking even for georgia police. >> it's the first time we've ever had this many victims in one event. >> reporter: inside they found seven people dead and two people critically injured. >> i am absolutely certain, 100% what happened. i'm absolutely certain how it happened. now the question is who is response in. >> reporter: police have arrested 22-year-old guy hines junior. he made the 911 call alerting them of the massacre. so far police have charged him

with making false statements, however police will not yet call him a suspect. >> be aware, be alert, don't think everything is okay because right now it's not. >> reporter: police say it will take two more days to complete all the autopsies and that investigators are still gathering physical evidence from the crime scene. they say they are following up lead up to 15 miles away. meanwhile the two survivors of the attack are still in critical condition at a savannah hospital. police have determined that none of the victims committed this horrible crime. >> police have released other detail sips that story broke. they have confirmed that none of the dead or injured carried out those attacks. the white supremacist accused of opening fire at the holocaust museum goes to court this week. police say james von brunn killed a security guard. police returned fire hitting

von brunn in the face. an elkridge community in morning after a teen hit by a car dies from his injuries. the victim was riding his bike shortly after midnight on friday morning when he was hit by a suspected drunk driver. tonight wjz's pat warren talks to the family's pastor. >> reporter: this memorial marks the shoulder of the road where benjamin was hit. there's an outpouring of condolences on his facebook page. >> just devastating. >> reporter: the 16-year-old was riding his bike on route 108 not far from his home when he was hit. he was transported to shock trauma with a severe head injury and died saturday evening. the pastor spoke with the family today. >> each day that i drive over to their house i still find myself shaking my head in disbelief. it just can't be, you know, and one of their neighbors, some of them here, they were walking

out of their house, three different times to walk up to help out, but they're just so grief stricken, it's just hard to imagine. >> friend posted pictures of the memorial to beep on his facebook page. >> the kids were very close in terms of some of the small group leaders. i saw them over at the house with ben's sister and connecting with her and caring for her. >> police charged a 26-year-old for driving under the influence. >> police believe the suspect had consumed alcohol prior to driving. it's not known at this time whether he might have also had drugs in his system. that he will be determined through further investigation. >> ben's family made the decision to donate his organs. >> on behalf of the family, i'd say thanks to everybody who has been willing to help out, particularly the doctors who did their best. >> ben's uncles tells eyewitness news that in all probability he shouldn't have

been out that late at night, but by the same token, if the police report is correct that driver should not have been behind the wheel, either. i'm pat warren, back to you on television hill. >> pat, thanks. no further charges have been filed against the driver. court documents show that loresong has a prior arrest record for a drug case. tragedy strikes the terps campus when a student falls four stories from a park garage. happened just before 2:30 this morning. crews say that a student around 20 years old fell from the measuringo arc, the garage. the student is being treated at a hospital for unknown injuries. campus police are investigating the cause of it. back to school for many maryland students tomorrow including right here in baltimore city. tonight derek valcourt is live with more on how school officials are getting ready for the big welcome back, aren't they, derek. >> school officials in three

different jurisdictions, a total of 220,000 kid, are waking up nice and early for the first time tomorrow. >> reporter: the classrooms sit empty, the hallways silent, but all that will change tomorrow morning when 80,000 kid in the city school system get back to the grind. >> the kids are excited to come for first day of school. they come back to clean, operable schools, nice environment, good principals, good teachers. >> schools all over have been sweeping up and putting those last minute finishing touches in place before kids return, and the school system hope to capitalize on what they see as recent gains, including a 6% boost in attendance at high schools and a significant drop in suspensions. >> we came from a place where we had to make extraordinary progress, and now we are at a point where we can truly become

a model for the nation. >> on the ride to school the mta hopes kids pay particular attention to their new campaign aimed at students with a slogan lucy on the buses and on the air. >> just remember three r's. >> ride, respect, and relax. >> they're hoping to curb violence, like the brutal beating of this woman on board an mta bus. >> i think there are just a few that act out but i think positive peer pressure can make a difference. also, swine flu expected to spread fast when the colder weather hits. even as vaccination trials are still underway state health officials are putting together a plan to immunize as many students as possible once the vaccine becomes available. >> reporter: and there are plenty of students who have already gone back to school. in fact, harford county, anne arundel county, and carroll county all went back to school last week. adam. >> all right, derek, thank you so much, reporting live in

baltimore city. health officials are urging students to get that standard flu vaccine in addition to the swine flu vaccine if it becomes available sometime in mid- october. there are some pretty angry baltimore county residents tonight after a day of volunteer work goes to waste. just yesterday the back river cleanup association put in many hours picking up trash and tons of tires and bottles in the river but this morning they returned to find the water a very odd orange color. it was littered once again with bottles and trash. the county believes that the large amount of runoff could be coming from construction projects in the areas of interstates 95 and 695. >> it's disheartening to people to come out and spend a saturday where they work all week, then all of a sudden they want to come out and work on something that's in their backyard, then they wake up the next morning and you've got bottles floating down in front of their house, the river is orange. >> so much trash out there, those volunteers really did make a big difference

california residents are being urged to follow evacuation orders. governor arnold schwarzenegger says three people were burned yesterday when they ignored fire warnings. two of the victims tried to ride out this wildfire while sitting in their hot tub. that didn't work out too well. so far 6600 families have been evacuated just outside of los angeles. in the wake of senator ted kennedy's death the debate on healthcare reform has taken precedence. senator chris dodd says the best way for congress to honor kennedy is to set aside their differences and pass a plan. a republican from utah says the chances are slimmer now without kennedy. the late senator spent a large part of his career fight are for access to healthcare. jessica kartalija reports from howard county the change in venue for the virgin mobile

music fest is a change to the hilltop. >> reporter: a race to pick the perfect seat starts before noon. >> we've got 17 bands, a- listers, blink 182, public enemy, a dance tent that's going to go all day long. >> reporter: it could be the sign of the times. a struggling economy has concert goers less likely to pay top dollar to see their favorite bands. >> last year it was like $200, and no one could afford. that. >> reporter: but this year concert organizers are picking up the tab. >> we made at lot easier for know get out and see something like this and not have to worry about my finances. >> reporter: the three-day event is now just one day and downsized significantly. >> this is the way for us to be able to do it in a cost- effective manner so that we could spend the money on the bands and have the great top acts and make sure that everybody gets to have a fun time when they come on in. >> reporter: merriweather is a

much smaller venue. >> probably today i would have been sitting around, because you are right, times are tough and you can't really go out and do a whole lot like you used to be able to. >> reporter: the move to merriweather is another blow to pimlico. magna entertainment, which owns pimlico, filed for bankruptcy this years leaving the future of the race course in question. britain's famed virgin festival made its debut on thin field in 2006. it was chosen for the track's close proximity to several east coast cities. past shows featured an a-list of talent like the who, red hot chili peppers, the killers, and gnarls barkley. >> we are just so grateful that we get to have this event at merriweather and the people have been so supportive of the virgin mobile festival. this year is going to be spectacular. >> they must be making money on concessions because the concert

overnight hours. 83 in ocean city, everyone falling somewhere between those two numbers. around the metro area the immediate metro area looking at 77 in westminster, 81 in the state capitol, 79 on kent island, 76 in bel air. the wind there the north is keeping us cool. also helping to dry us out. tall rain that we got over the last few days, these drier air masses are starting to keep us a little more comfortable, drying tout ground. we did have some clouds out there but we had just as much sun. it was the wind, the breeze from the north that kept us cool. we had enough sun to warm us up but what we're looking at here this is the front that moved through that wiped out all the junk and all the rain that we had out there, and behind it, we're looking at cooler air moving in. high pressure is building in. it's that clock-wise flow that's bringing us that north- northwesterly flow. it's drying us out, keeping rain potential to our south. while that front is still close enough that it's going to bring us the potential for showers

tomorrow, it will drift back far enough to bring us the chance for rain around southern maryland but the cooler temperatures prevail. it will bring us some clouds. high pressure stays in play, and really dominates our forecast. so while we'll see the clouds we really only after chance of rain south of the metro area. we're talking about the extreme lower eastern shore and down around southern maryland and virginia. so we're seeing sunrise tomorrow at 6:34, small craft advisory at midnight and stays in effect through tomorrow. partly cloudy and nice, open the windows and enjoy a break from the ac. 75 tomorrow, cloudy and pleasant. for the next five days, talking about the cool temperatures right there, but let's back this up. 78 on tuesday, 81 and 83 with lows as cool as 55, as mailed as 62. >> sports is
